but he can't make any more than the tag at this point sg. this helps him 0% in holding out. no more money can be given to him at this point. his timing will be off, he won't be in sync and football shape without being involved in camp. he didn't seem to worry about every dollar the last two years on suspension. it's all about him. AV is the model i'd like to see him try to replicate as a fan. bells only hurting his team mates at this point.

Maybe I just missed it, but ...

When *must* Bell report to work, so that his salary will not be reduced?

He's not holding out. He's on a one year contract. Thats the risk to players who sign the tag and why they don't like them. A significant injury screws up their next contract.

    Hes just being cautious.

You really think he is in better shape than AB? I doubt that. He should be in camp.

I only buy jerseys of retired guys for this reason.

That, and I'm basically stuck in the past circa 1994.

It's even worse in baseball. Guys move around like a game of musical chairs or something. Football definitely has a lot more continuity than most other sports now. Especially Steeler ball and that's really one of the reasons why I love the Steelers so much. I think continuity in general is what helps to make the NFL so popular. There's not as much of a "journeyman" aspect to the NFL as there are to the other major leagues. In baseball even the star players can be on 3 different teams within a matter of months really. That wouldn't happen in the NFL. Aroldis Chapman has one of the most expensive arms in the world and the dude played on the Reds, Cubs, and now Yankees all in a matter of months. That's a career for some people. Can you imagine Ben or Rodgers or Brady moving around like that?

he's not on any contract until he signs the tag. right now he's out of football. he doesn't have to sign it if he feels he may get hurt and ruin his next tag. he could sit out for two years.

I wonder what my boss would do..... if I stayed away from work for a month and said I wanted more guaranteed money or I wouldn't come back.....

According to asked and answered last week if he sits out the year he owe the Steelers a year so there isn't a sit and be a FA scenario

IMO hockey has as much or more continuity than football. That is one of the reasons I like it so much. That and the fact the Penguins are going to win the Stanley Cup again this year for the third year in a row. The Pens have been a big help in my raising money for the animals. A year ago I think I was one of the only people talking three-peat, now a lot of people are on the bandwagon. Hope that doesn't jinx them. Too bad the Pirates can't seem to get over 500 or we could have a shot at three pro Pittsburgh teams pulling it off the same year.

NFL.com is reporting Freeman.in Atlanta just signed an extension that puts him ahead of McCoy but we'll below the 12.1 Bell is going to make this year and way way below the 15mill that Bell is seeking. So he effort to reset the market for RBs isn't really working

PITTSBURGH -- Steelers receiver Antonio Brown still seems to be recruiting teammate Le'Veon Bell to report to camp this week.

On Wednesday, Brown posted a social media picture of Bell and himself with the caption "let's go bro," along with the hashtag #Juiceletsgetloose.

I will never own a Bell Jersey.

He needs to be here in camp period.

He needs to be here for the Kids who want to see him and get an autograph or any other fan for that fact. He needs to be here to work on timing with the offense AND help make our defense better trying to cover him.

Not being here for protection sake is bogus. How many times has AB been tackled or hit? Ben? Deebo has yet to make a serious impact as he's being protected. Bell is TOO valuable in the offense for Coach T to jeopardize him to injury by a freak injury due to unnecessary hits!!!!!

I'm burning my Bell jersey and becoming a Browns fan.

phew, ok now that I realize that ridiculous statement, I am confident he will tear it up this year.... and no I don't mean his ligaments.

I might be wrong but I don't think this is correct. Bell is already an URFA...... But he's been tagged so I order to play it must be for the Steelers and at the tag salary. If he doesn't play at all he'll be an URFA but the Steelers can opt to tag him again but not sure of the $$$ in this scenario.

I'm just repeating what Bob said twice. If he sits this year he still owes the Steelers a year so he has a limited options.

I assume it's any time before the first game of the season. Not certain on that though.

If he were to be so stubborn and sit for both seasons I'd travel back to Pittsburgh and help him pack his stuff to get out of town.

I think he will come to camp after week 3 of preseason. Wish it were sooner but would be surprised if it did.

Devonte freeman certainly didn't help support bell's position.
