Did anybody notice that the only other player that Haley mentioned by name in his press conference yesterday besides Ben was one Heath Miller. Hmmm? He said that Heath Miller was one of his favorite players to watch and just raved about him. Does anyone else see Heath's biggest statistical season by far coming up?? :hmmm:

I have no idea why he is so under used, you've been right so far Jack, lets hope your clairvoyance continues!

Would be nice. He doesn't get half the recognition he deserves, and he's capable of so much more.

It all depends upon the O line.

If they fail to address it adequately, then they're going to need him to help block.

The Oline plays a very small role IMO. Heath's plays will be ones where he gets open quickly. The Oline won't need to hold on forever to the block in order for the ball to come out. To me, his success comes from the growth of the 3 young receivers, the ability to run the ball, and potentially a TE besides David Johnson who is another threat to catch the ball, so as to create mismatches.

Just another point, Will our Oline still be considered bad if we only give up 20 sacks this coming year?

I would be thrilled with only 20 sacks. But that's only half the battle; they have to step up in the running game too.

Oh man I hope so. I would say that Heath is my favorite Steeler right now as far as the offense goes. I get really mad when I hear a bunch of fantasy fanboys who obviously know nothing about football saying that Heath is not a top tight end. I'm like "Yeah well I'm sorry that you don't get points in fake football for being great at the fundamentals. But you get PLENTY of points among the Steeler faithful!"

I do not see any increase in his numbers, UNTIL THE STEELERS
FIX THEIR OFFENSIVE LINE, HEATH MILLER WILL AGAIN HAVE TO STAY
IN AND BLOCK SO THE 102 MILLION DOLLAR QB DOESN'T GET KILLED.
PLEASE STEELERS FIX THE OL, SO WE CAN BECOME THE TEAM THAT
THE FANS WANT TO WATCH AGAIN.

As an offensive threat, he's been way under-utilized the past couple years and I can envision a resurgence under Haley's direction. I think we're going to see a lot of new things on offense we haven't seen before like scoring in the red zone and creative play calling utilizing all our weapons. Can't wait for training camp!

And it's absolutely CRAZY that probably the biggest red zone threat we have in Heath Miller was hardly ever utilized in the red zone. I'm glad that it appears that Todd Haley recognizes from DAY 1 that he has an underutilized weapon there.

If the OL gives up 20 sacks, it will be one of the great achievements in NFL history. Peyton Manning gets sacked on average on average over his career almost 18 times/season. Tom Brady, you know, the guy that refs never let anyone touch, get sacked typically about 25 times/season, 32 last year. There is no way that this team, even if it improves on OL, will give up just 20 sacks w/ Ben taking snaps.

To answer your question Jack......I sure as heck hope so. We've been fools (Arians) thus far for not utilizing him like we should have been. I have a feeling Haley's not going to let that trend continue any longer.

As far as the o line goes, there's other ways to help remedy that situation besides leaving Miller in to block all the time. Yet another failure by Arians that will hopefully change with Haley.
