I cannot be as confident nor state this as such either. Tuitt has great potential but has not quite reached that potential. Realistically, his best season was in 2015 where he had 6.5 sacks and 39 solo tackles; 4.0 sacks and 19 solo tackles this season.

Within that same vein though, he has not played a full season since his rookie season; quite concerning given he does have immense potential. If anything and, I do fear we might be repeating history in a different context, we just might be seeing the second coming of LaMar Woodley.

I have no idea what hes been doing in 2018? Hopefully he's rehabing that injury that slowed him down significantly in 17.

And we gave him a 5yr 60m contract making him the 4th highest paid 3-4 DE in football. I am not against the signing but it cracks me up when in other threads we are not willing to give Bell this kind of money, compare production and I think Bell has brought a ton more to the offense than Tuitt has brought to the defense. I am not trying to put one player vs the other just want to point out how close in money these 2 guys are. jmo

If you're going to be on the field got to produce. I appreciate a guy playing through an injury, but sometimes you hurt the team more than you help it.

Alualu had 39 tackles and 4 sacks in 2017 for us at far less money.

All I can say to that is that they knew he was injured and didn't have the defensive line depth to pull him out.

Your right, based on tuitts 4 year record I dont know how he was rewarded with a 60 mill contract even in his 2016 season he only had 37 tackles 4 sacks.........

his production fizzled badly. We all saw how expolosive he was for those few snaps pre bicep injury. Sad to think he may never be the same. Hopefully that is not the case

Idk about that. Like Mac alluded to Alualu putting up good numbers in limited play and also they took Hargrave off the field a lot...could of slid him over too. Injuries suck but if you're on the field you gotta produce. I'm hoping for a huge bounce back ,we need him bad.

I get that, but you had McCullers listed as a DT not a NT and he dressed. He didn't get many snaps at all at a time when the most successful teams rotate the D-line more than anything to keep guys fresh.

I get that they don't carry as many guys on the D-line as other teams, but that means you need to be smarter about who you have and a better rotation.

I don't think you are going to see much from him in 2018 either unless you like a blue collar approach like A Smith brought. I don't think despite the sack record that Mr. Rooney liked the new look defensive system and having people run on it. That's just my feelings based on his presser but you may see an old school look more this coming season.

I sure hope Tuitt's bad season was the result of him not being fully healthy.

We say "we" because "we are family"....some of "them" don't get "us"....but I believe it was said in jest....
