I agree, this is generally the case. The team fought hard today. The offense just didn't execute. Can't turn the ball over 2 times and expect to win games.

Does anyone still believe preseason doesn't mean anything?

when you except losing that's what you get. Everyone on the team was ok with losing with the excuses of " we are evaluating? We are trying this, we are saving touchdowns for when it counts, regardless they should of been pissed about losing. U should never except losing for any game.

Guys, guys, guys, let me re-point out that our offensive line coach wasn't good enough to stay with the Chiefs (and he replaced one that came from the Bills), and Haley himself was fired by the Chiefs halfway through his last season as head coach.

The defense stays good in part because the coaching staff has been there forever and are very good. There is a high turnover of coaches on the offensive side, and the ones that they are bringing in, aren't good.

Also, wasn't Haley suppose to be an emotional coach that got in players faces when they messed up? Have we seen this?

I don't know. It seemed to be everyone's "concern" when he was hired. Are you suggesting that now that's a virtue?

No, but that was a trait that seemed to be labeled with him.

Its sad when one of your captains(kiesel) has to say
that we have to play with more urgency. Who is
getting these guys prepared to play? Look around the league
and watch good football and see how much fun they seem
to be having and enjoying their trade. Then watch the Steeler
players? Do you see the same excitement?

I think you aren't remembering the debacle of Cowher's last season, or, as JimmyAllen reminds us, the 1989 opener.

For once I didn't think emotion was the problem. The way we played, "emotion" would have just meant Worild's hitting players 7 seconds after the whistle had blown, or something. What happened was:
we didn't get into their half enough
we had a run game that moved at a tectonic pace
we had too many 3 and outs
    and as a result
    we didn't get a rhythm.
Compare most of the drives to when we went no-huddle... and again, I ask myself, why do we not do that from the start?!? Not all the time, of course, but at least some times.
