Haley made him better at this, he was not well taught by BA and slightly regressed with Fichtner. With Canada he didn’t have time to think because of the OL

That's a very good read and a lot of it was concepts that we discussed way back with Arians and building off plays. I remember the Stefan Logan problem that aggravated me to no end. BA ran him out there for 3 plays one game where every time it was a fake reverse to Logan with a HB dive to Mendenhall that netted less than 5 yards each time. No one bought the fake and the only reason to run it 3 times is so on the fourth you give it to Logan to see if you fooled the D, but it never happened.

The article also raises the question of playcall vs Ben reading the defense. Such as the 1st example where he throws it to McCloud and it's picked. Was that the called play, if so why didn't he check out of it? Why did they attack the seam?

One thing that is clear and the article mentioned, in 16 games teams dared Ben and the offense to make them pay for their defensive choices and it did happen.
