    Ummm.
I edited my post before you sent me this.
I still want him as a 3rd because of upside, but again Arm, and leg speed do not make a Qb. Do You know how many great Qbs would have been in the NFL if it did??? Millions.
One thing, and one thing matters most of all....not how smart, fast , strong arm you are....how fast can you process what you are seeing , and act accordingly. Everything else is just Icing on the cake.
That's why we have had Slow, Fast, weak arm, strong arm, short, and tall Great Qbs...because they all had what really matters.
Again. I edited what I said. So really none of this is an issue.

And to clarify, my comment was in response to why I don’t think Rudolph is any good and that all 3 of the QB’s we have right now offer you about the same thing. I never indicated Haskins NFL body of work was any good.

I don't think there are millions of people who have played quarterback in some capacity. :smiley1:

They aren't waiting that long to find another QB.

Yeah, I don’t have confidence in any of our backup QBs being able to do much over a lengthy span. However, of the 3 I think Rudolph is best suited to hold the fort for a 2-4 game stretch. If Ben isn’t able to hold up, it’s going to be a rough year.

All I know is I watched him struggle...except for a screen pass...against what....1 starter on our D...against His whole starting offense.

Who cares what he did in a preseason game? He had over 1,000 yards last season, and they just gave him a new contract.

There will be plenty of QBs in the draft to select from next year.

Dude what the F**k are you talking about??
    I'm talking about Sam Darnold....who are you...because 1000 yard for a Qb isn't $hit

I thought you were talking about Robbie Anderson, you can trash Darnold all you want, but he played better than the Steelers QB in the game .

Where have I acted incredulous about why anyone doubts Rudolph? I get doubting him. Like I said he looks like a disaster waiting to happen when things break down and he looks very lumbering in the pocket. What I don't get is anyone claiming that Haskins has out-performed Rudolph because he clearly has not. Despite the flaws in Rudolph he has clearly performed better this preseason, even before the complete stinker by Haskins against Carolina. If we are basing who the backup is on how the two performed in the preseason then it seems obvious to me that Rudolph is the backup.

I hope Rudolph never sniffs the field in the regular season unless it is in mop up duty. My entire point has been that Rudolph has been better this preseason. That's it. I am not saying I want Rudolph to be the next starter for the Steelers. I'm not saying to cut Haskins. I am simply saying that Rudolph has been the better QB this preseason and if that is what we are going to use to name the backup then it should be Rudolph.

I get that. I understand exactly what you're saying. I just don't agree. I even said that I might be wrong about this. You clearly see something that I don't see. I'm not saying you're wrong. And you've seen enough of my posts to know that if I think someone is wrong, I say it.

This isn't about who's right or wrong on this issue, as far as I'm concerned. It's about perspective. We are just not going to agree on this. I'm fine with that. No hard feelings. :drinks:

I’m not worried, they will find the next franchise qb in the next few years. It’s not the 90s anymore, the game is tailored to quarterbacks now. Not as hard as it once was to find the next man.

LoL. I wish I could agree with You but the tape doesn't back that up .
Just go back 10 years. 2011 till now. Now go and look at how many Qbs have been drafted that are out of the league, playing backup, or are on their 2nd- 3rd team. I can't even count how many Qbs I've heard people praise as good Qbs that are out already...because some think 1 ,or 2 years playing show how great they are.
