Maybe my expectations for James are too high...but i'm not seeing the aggression we all become custom to.......your thoughts?

    NO,
His knee still needs time but he is out there. Him being on the field makes them respect him and frees Woodman up some

They showed how he can't get to that extremely low angle when coming around the corner during the Sun game. He is practically straight up these days just sparring with the LT...totally can't use that low angle and leverage to get under and around. I am assuming it is that left knee that is his issue and prevents what he used to be able to do.

Right, his leverage was his MoJo. Maybe needs to play on the other side so he can use his other leg to plant. But damn, that would be whole new learning experience for him.

I think you are going to see LeBeau move him around more and have him blitz more up the middle. There were several times in the Cincy game where he ran a loop with the DE or just came right up the middle, like how Farrior(used to) and Foote now blitz. I hope he gets back to his old self but if not he is still a pretty important player for this defense. It allows others one on one matchups.

As a person who has had multiple knee surgeries and an athlete myself, Debo will not be the same as he was for quite a long time if ever. I dont think his burst will be the same nor will his ability to get the low angle on the end. He is probably going to have to be utilized more in the middle of the field as a pass rusher with alot of the crossing schemes Lebeau uses.

While watching that angle illustration on NBC Sunday, which was pretty cool for them to point out, I couldn't help but think that it's not that he can't do it anymore, it's that he still doesn't have the confidence the push his knee that far. I believe it's a mental thing. James will get better and better as he gains more confidence in the knee. For now, I am with Hawkeye. I think they will find ways to move him into position to rush up the middle and create havoc in some different ways. Before the year is out we will see flashed of the Silverback we know and love! Hopefully just in time for a strip sack or two on Mr. Flacco!!!!

Woodman is that rare player on our team that is seen about as often as bigfoot. We use him when the other teams is going for it on 4th and long or when they are going to kick a field goal on 3rd down or when the other team runs the wildcat to the left tackle. Woodman has that knack and ability to know right where the ball is going to be in those situations. For those of you that aren't sure who he is you can see him playing safety when we run the wide 10. Yes, folks, we are fortunate to have a Woodman on our team!!!

I want to say that I recall an article shortly after his return that he was actively pulling back on hits now because of all the hoopla last year?

Other than coming off knee surgery, and not being in GAME SHAPE,
Silverback, I think, just my opinion has Roger Goodell to much in his head.
He should return to his all out playing days and let the chips fall were they may.
Of course this may lessen his pocket book? So I basically think he is caught
between a rock and a hard place? Its a shame!

It's not just his wallet he's worried about now. Because Goodell sees no difference in an incident 7 seasons ago, and one last week, he escalates the penalty each time. James could be facing a suspension next time.

Against Philly, he very clearly slowed up and hesitated when he had a clean shot on Vick. Could have been a sack, instead Vick got the ball off.
