As much as I understand the thinking about Worilds needing the chance to prove himself(for his sake, and ours...), and,
without getting into any "blame" about whose "fault" the split was(because this is, unfortunately, a business...),
All I have to say is, I would love to see him back for another season.
I highly doubt it will happen, but I would be overjoyed.
I personally believe he was getting healthy at the end of last season, and he has at least one, if not two, good solid, productive years left in him.
I also believe he will play with a chip on his shoulder, no matter where he signs. Not that he ever hasn`t, I just expect it to be a little bigger chip.
I think it is time to offer him one of those "incentive laden" contracts, that we discussed here, before, now.
Whether he would take it, or not, I have no idea.
I also think he may land another job somewhere else, after the draft.
I can understand the organization`s thinking, if they don`t wanna bring him back, to see what else they have, but I would LOVE to see him back here!!!
    Just my opinion.
    GO STEELERS!!!

People do it but it's not a lot, it's the exception, not the norm. I'd love to see how many would be ok with taking a pay cut if it were them. You call it greed but I guarantee you would see it differently if you were an athlete and was presented this situation. It's easy for you to say now because you do't live on that side of the street but if were, you'd want every penny I bet. It's all relevant to ones situation. It's easy for you to say that because you are like, omg, that's so much money but when you are accustomed to it, it's different. And all athletes want to be paid what they think they are worth, the ones who give the discounts are far and few between. I'll never understand the disdain towards people who want to make as much as they can. I say good for them, there's not one of us that wouldn't want that kind of money. I also think James is a special case, he's had a lot of money lifted from his pockets over the last few seasons, I don't care if people think it was his fault, still had money taken from him for playing football the way he was brought up to do. Now here come the Steelers trying to hit him in the pocket too. I wish he would have taken the offer but don't blame him or begrudge him one bit.

I'm not sure if someone put this on here yet but I saw an article on NFL.COM that said apparently the Steelers have told Harrison he's not gonna get ANY offer to come back. I guess we'll see if they really have moved on.

James is a idiot if the reports are true he was offered 4 million plus a chance to make more with incentives, for a 35 year old OLB coming off a down year with back and knee problems. Time to move on he wants to thumb his nose at that offer let him go play for some crappy team and chase a contract. Remember when his agent said there was 5 or 6 teams interested in Harrison he only visited the Ravens the market is dried up.

If? Actually, he's an idiot, period. Great player, but rocks for brains. Thank God he wasn't getting paid to think.

Again Why wasn't Troy, Woodley, Kiesel, Ben,Ike asked to take a pay cut?
Remember restructuring is not a pay cut. Get use to this negotiating tool used
by all teams. Look for the Steelers to ask these players above the same question next year that they
asked of silverback this year. And you talk about GREED, Greed is a two way street and the Steelers will
play right along with ya.This is why players/agents want these HUGE signing bonuses, nobody is going to
take your upfront money away from you. Troy you make 6 mil that is too much the way you performed last year,
we want you to play for 4 mil, LOL but I signed a contract for 6mil, LOL now lets see who is greedy?
Wouldn't our Steeler team be better if these guys mentioned above also took a pay cut to keep JH?
    Now who is GREEDY?

I hear what youre saying but how much money did JH get paid while he was hurt? Im sure he still got the same check.

The reality is he rolled the dice with a $4mil bet on the table and he lost.

Troy maybe in the same position next year. If he gets injured, hes really going to be in a spot.

I think it all about evens out in the long run. How many players in the league get paid a king's ransom and stand on the sidelines in sweat pants (see Polamalu, Troy) for the majority of the season? Or how many players get that HUGE contract and then grossly underperform (see Woodley, Lammar or Wallace, Mike after the 2013 season). It happens. Sure teams ask players to take a paycut when they no longer have the same kind of value they may have had when they signed the original contract. And you're starting to see players hold out if they feel as though they have outperformed their contracts like Chris Johnson did a couple of years back and MJD did last year. It's a two-headed monster, there is no doubt about that.

it was CJ's first year i thought. iremember telling the Titans fans at the bar who were upset with the pick on draft day to wait and see.
MJD got hurt early this last season but the year before he was leading rusher in the league and the JAGS GAVE HIM NOTHING right ? then he got hurt
i could be mistaken, but anyway you are correct it is a two headed monster. seems they play great to get the huge payout then underperform when gotten, but the team benefits in the early years with a small contract especially now with the limits on first rd contracts. I'm just worried that the ones being discussed for the STEELERS will have real good years and their contracts are soon to be up hood worilds etc. and they bolt. oh well.

I say good riddance. We will survive without him. Just like we have in years past.
