He was getting no push and was being handled easily 1 on 1 on almost every play he rushed. I love Harrison so id like to think that maybe he isnt completely healthy but im starting to think we need to go OLB in the first round

I agree. We need to address our linebackers with at least one inside and one outside linebacker. I know we got Sean Spence but we're not sure about him after the injury. And Slyvester doesn't look like he is cutting it.

I think we are going to be switching to a 4-3 so don't expect to go LB first round. They should address the secondary in round 1.

i disagree, getting pressure on the qb takes precedence over corners and safeties imo. Getting pressure makes the secondary better because the ball is coming out faster and while the qb is under duress. Ill keep taking front 7 players all day

    Its in the works. http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/spo ... -3-659531/

The only way I see us staying in the 3-4 is if we get 2 nasty LBs.

i saw him on all kinds of tackles today and still being held. of course he's not healthy and they know that. he had a good game. that was not his coverage when he was chasing the guy down the field. i agree we stay 3-4. they had 4 FG's.

Any particular reason why you feel that way or gut feeling? I think once DL retires it's going to happen, Tomlin is a 4-3 guy and also our personnel doesn't really fit a 3-4 anyway, unless they address that.

I agree, Mac. He was winning a lot of battles at the LOS, especially earlier on. I also believe we remain 3-4.

Yup, getting away with that extra grab everytime with no call. On most of his plays I think he was supposed to set the edge. Noticed he wasn't going deep into the usual looping rush they like to bring him on. Also saw some set up plays by DL with some X fire blitzes.

Yeah, but he didn't have any sacks, so... he sucked today.

He's not 100% and he's still playing pretty well. And I don't know if you guys noticed, but most teams specifically game plan to have their QB throw the ball REALLY fast most times against us. So it might look like we get no sacks on 30 passes, but on 20 of them we had zero chance.

Why do people insist on bringing up the 4-3? Tomlin has just as much time around the 3-4 now. He has never said which in he prefers.. These days its hard to stay in a base formation anyway

Did he go against Trent Williams today? Williams is like the best LT in all of the NFL. You might say some other LT's are better, but they are probably coasting on reputation. Trent is young and in his prime and really good.

Why can't we talk about 4-3? Is it a taboo subject? Some of us would like to see us return to a 4-3 and some of us feel we need to, we're just kicking around ideas. Tomlin stayed with a 3-4 because A) He wasn't about to over ride DL's system and B) there was no reason to, things were working just fine. But I think Tomlin has been waiting to put his stamp on this team and we'll find out if he and Butler shake things up or continue status quo.

Not in favor of going to a 4/3 defense it's not like we have the Giants d-line.

I don't see why our personnel doesn't fit a 3-4. We don't have the defensive ends to get pressure on the quarterback. None of them has showed any pass rushing ability. You might be able to play Woodley at DE but he's better standing up and coming off the edge.

If they draft passing rushing defensive ends then i would believe we are switching but until then, i don't see it.

If they switch to the 4-3, we may still go with a LB in the first round, but it would be a MLB. We would need a guy to fill that role. I would actually be pretty content with our Dline and since most played the 4/3 they could survive in it. Timmons would be great as the Weak Side LB, but we would need to determine who could be the Strong Side guy. Maybe Foote could be that guy, but we still have no one for the middle.

They actually said during the game that Tomlin said that Harrison is NOT 100% so it's probably a little unfair to expect him to absolutely dominate. Chances are if we had any talent on our depth chart he'd still be trying to recover fully anyway. Instead he's having to go out and play hurt.

The casual fan does not appreciate his play today, he is getting healthier and in playing
shape,Barring anymore complications/injuries he will be terrorizing opposing Qb's shortly.

Yep, he is definitely still getting mugged on most plays...I think just his presence out there is HUGE!
