His base salary is 3.5 million, he received the rest in a bonus just like he receives every year over and above his base, he was well compensated, ya think??

I applaud JH92 taking a stand. We're not sheep. The guy wants to cover his azz from a league that has not been totally upfront or isn't opposed to fabricating things to suit their end results. Keep fighting the system please James!!! You make it harder for the big companies/gov't agencies to run the show. I don't want to be micro managed in my life and career, so why should JH92. I'm an industrial electrician by trade and part of that is going from state to state and project to project. I've seen how the big corporations crack down on individual freedoms while the businesses say "yes master, I'll shine your shoes too ifin it pleases ya". Total B.S. Voices need to be heard, if for nothing else to give a counterpoint.

Wow, its amazing how much attention one player get, while not opposing the test ,but questioning the process. What if more than one player had the balls to do the same? JH92 is breaking the rules...he's just questioning the rules.
I asked the question years ago, when baddell(because there is nothing good about him) first became commish. What if the top 10 draft possible choices wouldn't show up for the draft in protest? I mean, it doesn't effect their contract, it would send a message to the league and commish that they have a voice and can make an immediate impact on and off the field, but like turtle stated above...we have a bunch of sheep (players) that won't stand for anything, so they fall for everything.

It shows you that when negotiation time comes, the players are as not together as they need to be and therefore the owners get all kind of ridiculous stuff slated their way into the collective bargaining agreement.

Then when the owners flex those things they got slated their way, the players cry. But they agreed to it and then want to play victim.

It's a requirement of his employment that his union agreed to. It's within the parameters of the law. It keeps him safer by not having to work alongside people who are under the influence.
Just pee in the cup and move on. If you want to make a stand or protest it take it up with your Union. Get involved with the negotiations next time around.

Harrison knows the rules, just pee in the cup and shut up. You don't see other players trying to film their drug test, if he doesn't like it he can retire.

A lot of this depends on the position of strength that you negotiate from. The NFL can handle a long lockout better than the union. The NFL will have no trouble finding replacement players if there is a strike. Will the quality of the games be the same? No. But it will be televised, tickets will be sold, and money will be made. In 3 years, all will be back to normal. The NFL will survive. The players who strike will be forgotten unemployed people, It is what it is. Just ask all of the pittsburgh steel workers who went on strike in the late 70s and never worked again. They made demands that were unacceptable. They lost.

And this is when the fans come in to play. We and several other fan bases, compete for best fans. Steelernation, raidernation, cowboys,Seattle's 12th man to name a few. If the fans came together with the players and would not attend or watch the games for a month, because that's all it would take before the NFL owners and roger baddell would cave in with the loss of revenue. The players and fans have more power then we realize, but where we fall is the lack of togetherness and loyalty.

I don't think he's questioning the fact that he has to take the test. He's part of the union and is well aware that the tests are needed for keeping players on an equal footing. If anyone is against PEDs I'm would guess its JH92. We've all seen how much he spends money and time wise on keeping himself in top form.

I think he is trying to ensure that his test/sample is handled correctly by the league. I'm guessing on that because I haven't seen his reasons for wanting to film it. Just the reaction to them not letting that happen. If that's the goal then the sample could be divided in half and sent to an independent testing facility. But that would have to be added in the next round of negotiations.

i think it has to do with them making him take the test in one of those transgender bathrooms. he wants to take it in the one marked gorilla and they want him to take it in the one marked ape. quite troubling to his species. :smiley1::cool:

Kind of like when signing a contract, they want it... Then cry about it later. Same old same the big boys set the rules and then pee ons making them money agree to the rules for a month or 2 then whine about their agreement. Man each generation gets stupider by the decade

100% this. They have all the leverage.

They are billionaires, would take a lot longer then a month if ever. And these guys aren't billionaires because of owning a football team, its a hobby for them, they made their money in other ventures or just come from a long line of money.

Fans would never make that stance anyway but even it they did, ticket sales are only a small percentage of their revenue. If you want to hurt the owners, its the sponsors that have to pull out.

come'on Dobbs, you really think JH didn't know he had to take these tests? I always thought you were the level headed one. JH knew he had to consent to the tests, its the integrity of the results he is trying to question imo. He's not crying, he's testing the boundaries of individual rights and trying to make sure they are just. He doesn't want to get popped for a rigged test. That's my speculation....hence the "random" assumptions. I don't think he trusts the NFL to perform a fair drug test.

If he wants to film the test he should have negotiated that in. If he thinks the test is rigged he should contact his players union rep and report it.
It's all just "look at me " nonsense.

it still doesn't mean he agreed to it. he has no say and has to go along with it since the others did agree to it. again the steelers voted it down.

What was the yay/nay vote count from the Pitt players for the new contract, or are you just talking about the pitt owners turning it down via the owners vote which was also a majority rule vote????

Every player on the team voted it down. Personally, I have no idea why people have a problem with JH doing this, its not like the league has never singled him out before. I'm not saying they would screw with his test results but I can certainly appreciate him feeling they would. If thats even the reason, has he come out and said that? All I heard from him is he wanted to document the process leading up to the test but not the test itself.

I haven't followed it that closely, mostly because I don't care.

He may not agree with it, but he has to follow the rules if he wants to play in the NFL. Filming it is apparently against the rules.

The only issue I have is if he wants to do it, go through his union.

I wasn't singling out Harrison and in a drunken moment replied to Dean's comment... Hahaha totally wasn't thinking Harrison related I was just pointing out how it's typical of players to sign something and then ***** about what they signed. Totally spaced the whole Harrison title thing .

Since Peyton Manning was cleared by the NFL from buying PEDs, are they now gonna get off James about it?
