    Welcome back, Silverback!
If he was holding back "depth", at the position...
They would pass him up the chart...
Until we get someone better, put him on the field...

    Glad to hear he`s back!!!:dfense::yeehaw:
    GO STEELERS!!!!:herewego!:

Apparently his father passed away over the weekend. He was close to his dad. I wonder if this will impact his decision at all. I know losing a parent can certainly take the wind out of one's sails.

James hasn't even addressed his father's passing on Facebook yet but, after following his Facebook posts for a few years I've gotta say that I'm surprised and impressed with the type of person and father that James is. The dude is all about his kids. He seems to be a 180 from the attitude he portrays elsewhere (#gunphotos).

Did Harrison fail a drug test? His Facebook page has a bunch of videos of him trying to film a random drug test, was told he couldn't film it, I think he took the test anyway, then he posted a video saying the NFLPA rep was going to put him in touch with a lawyer . . . Can anybody make any sense of any of it?

No, he didn't fail. From what I understand, he likes to record them, but they're now saying he won't be tested if he tries to record it, which would be the same as failing. Here are the videos you're referring to for anyone interested.

Thanks. I was in a loud place and couldn't really hear what he was saying very well. I wasn't really understanding what was going on.

How do you film a drug test? Do we actually view the stream going into the cup?

Considering how much they have invested in these players I can totally understand it. Better to not leave anything to chance.

Shouldnt everybody employed in the NFL be drug tested? Including Goodell and his staff, right down to the coaches?

And I cant figure out what goodell did to earn 38 million dollars last year including 3.7 million in benefits, he has to have the easiest job in the world to earn that kind of money yet the owners whine when a player wants a 40 mill contract for 5 years......

I would genuinely like to see a 'day in the life ' of Goodell. Like they did with Harbaugh a while back, and he slept in his office 4 nights a week.
I can't imagine Goodell does that.

If they didn't the league would be full of knuckleheads like Martavis Bryant.

Salary is in line with the position. NFL earned about $1 Billion under his leadership last year. That's 3.8%. Under my last GM contract that was not equity based, I was compensated with a salary, plus 5% of net profit EBIT.

All depends on what "you" agree to when signing a contract. If you don't like the contract, don't sign it. I had a previous experience where in the office I was exempt, if I walked out on the construction site of our new facility, I was open to random testing. I signed the contract.

I guess I meant to say that I find it odd that some dude has a job which basically entails watching dudes pee in a cup. "You work for the NFL?? Sweet! What do you do?" "I watch the players pee into a cup."

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I couldn't care less if these players wanted to smoke weed in their spare time. I don't partake since it's just not my thing, but if it's not enhancing their performance towards a competitive advantage then I don't understand the need for testing. It's a recreational drug that is more debilitating than anything else. To me, it's not really any worse than alcohol. A guy can drink a six-pack after a game but not smoke a joint? Again, no competitive advantage so why the need?

Agreed, entirely. But for now, it is the rule of the collective bargain agreement. When the next contract comes up it can be a negotiating point. But once a collective bargaining agreement is signed changes are hard to make happen. Even if both management sides agree.

When it's time to go to the table with the owners, the players are sure going to have a ton of issues they want addressed. Might be another stoppage.
