I'm guessing you are exactly right Mac. The one thing I always think about when they say that people have "figured us out" is this. A lot of times when you hear commentators talk about veteran players they say "this guy has seen it all" or "you're not gonna fool Manning, Brady, Favre" or whatever qb they would say that about. So really it HAS to boil down to execution and if you don't have the guys to execute the system it doesn't mean the system is bad it just means that the players are not up to snuff. I mean look at an elaborate system like the Pats have and then imagine Colt McCoy trying to run it. Now look at the system Lebeau has and think about Lewis, Mundy, Sylvester, Worilds, Hood, and an aging Hampton, Keisel, Troy, and Harrison. So it might not be the system that's wrong in spite of what Ryan Clark said. It might just be that we don't have the players to do it. They say there is "no defense for the perfect pass" but couldn't that also be turned around and be just as true?

i think it's more about finding the right mix of playmakers and solid players. solid players like ziggy hood, cam heyward, timmons, woodley, taylor, clark, keisel. then there are playmakers and guys that fly around screwing up offenses. we have been adding solid players all over the place and they are safe players that do their jobs, but we have not added playmakers like troy, like harrison, like aaron smith. people might question the last guy, but aaron smith made alot of plays in the middle of the pile that most don't notice. he could handle the lineman but then when it was time , get off a block and make the tackle. we need some playmakers added to the safe players that we have. it's not the system or alot of teams wouldn't have switched back to the 3-4.
