Has anyone else watched hard knocks on hbo with the falcons yet? This is really the first year I watched the series. I caught one or two episodes of the bengals last year. But I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed how much fighting has gone on in the falcons camp!? I live 5 minutes outside of Latrobe so I have been to steelers training camp many times, but I've never noticed as many fights as the Falcons have shown. But then again, we as fans have never had the opportunity to have our players filmed 24/7 and mic'd up to hear what's being said. But do all of camps have as much scrapping and fighting going on as Atlanta, or is that how it is every where? Just seems like mike smith has no control of that team. At least so far that's what I get out of it. Any one else notice this or am I completely off base here?

There are generally a good amount of small fights in camp. Hard Knocks is focusing on it of course, but I don't believe the Falcons camp was as bad as a whole, as it seemed on TV. Ra'Shede Hageman always seems to be around the fighting...and giving up when he's tired.

I have no statistical data to back this up, but when the heat and humidity are up, guys tend to want to go at it more. You're right though in that the coach has a lot to do with how much it goes on. Some coaches like their guys fighting as long as it doesn't get too serious, while others put the kibosh on it quickly. Bruce Arians made his team run sprints for much of practice today after a fight broke out. It was nothing like the Raiders/Cowboys brawl.
