After everyone was high-five-ing MW what do you suppose Casey was talking with MW so seriously about while they waiting for the replay to confirm MW's incredible TD catch? The sideline camera was trained on them for a long spell. I wonder if it had anything to do with reminding MW about his unlimited future success being a Steeler for life and to remember that come contract signing time. The seriousness of it seemed such a contrast to everyone else's giddiness

I doubt it very much. Players have an unwritten rule, don't talk about each others contract.

I was wondering about that conversation too.... No idea what it was about, but it made me smile seeing Big Snack as a veteran leader having a chat with one of the young guns... On offense no less.

I thought Snack was going to take a bite of him.

Yes indeed - I swear Snack's head was three times the size of MW's in those close up shots. Reminds me of a picture I saw from back in the late 90's when Hines Ward and Troy Edwards were prancing around the locker room wearing a pair of Hampton's gym shorts without stretching them out one bit - one body per leg opening. Hilarious image.

I don't think it was an incredible catch. Good footwork, yes. Incredible catch, no. It fell right into his hands and the defender was out of position.

Good catch, great concentration and great effort to get that foot in bounds. As for what they were talking about, doubt it had to do with his contract per say but could have been along the lines of something like "this is why we need you here and why you have to stay" and then as an after thought "if you try to leave, I'll eat you".

Per ScottChab - "I don't think it was an incredible catch. Good footwork, yes. Incredible catch, no. It fell right into his hands and the defender was out of position.

You're so correct. I forgot the replacement refs are now using Olympic style points to calculate touchdown value - "Wallace was given a 9.0 by the American referee for his dazzling footwork but the East German referee only gave him 2.0 for the rather mundane handwork and placement of the defender. Therefore, Wallace's total touchdown value is only 3.14 points. Improve on the handwork next time Mr. Wallace and synchronize better with the defender if you expect to receive a full 6 points for your touchdown catches."

Perhaps the only incredible part of the play was that the replacement booth refs concurred with the original replacement field ref call.

I guess you are worried about style points, so that it makes Sportscenter's top plays. The catch resulted in 6 points. Other than a game winning TD catch, has any catch ever resulted in more?

Give me a break. I'm not looking for style points, I simply said I didn't think it was an incredible catch.

As far as ESPN saying it is a top play... I guess to some they are right when they say good things and wrong when they say bad things about the Steelers.

Was a great catch on a pass that Ben threw before he could set. MW actually slowed for it and eyed it the whole time and then to keep those feet in. awesome.

Just having some fun with you Scott. And you're right - it was probably one of MW's easier catches but the footwork made it special. Heath's catch along the right sideline was a more impressive "catch" and it gives you an idea of how nimble and massive his hands must be. Many good tosses and catches in this game. Maybe not as memorable though as Franco's "Less than Stellar - Highly Overrated - Quite Pedestrian Reception".

I was glad he got the TD catch. It was a good play.

My opinion on his footwork is I honestly think it was more luck in how they came down than a thought out thing, JMO. There are some occasions when you can really see a receiver making the footwork happen, others are more just a reslt of circumstance.

I do wish he would catch the ball with his hands up high and then bring it in vice always making a basket catch into his body.

Antonio Browns catch where he had to go up for it was pretty sweet. Ben said in post game interview it went high because of Pouncey getting the ball wet from his sweat lol

Per TheSteelHurtin "Had to be after 01"

Thanks for checking - I guess that would be the really really late 90's then.
