Glad the notorious cowards in the Steelers secondary finally decided to compete at the LOS instead of playing 10 to 15 yards away...

They were playing that style of defense because the coaches told them to. However, it's on them for constantly being flat-footed, out of position, and looking just plain lost out there. I am glad everyone was able to adapt and play well in the second half though.

Tomlin is just being Tomlin with the press.

I do remember one or two seasons back, when we played an abysmal first half, and a great second half, and all the players said was they just executed better. But as you say, there were definite scheme adjustments when they came out. That got inside Osweiler's head, and he was off for the whole half.

I have an image of the half time team talk being Porter yelling "at least TRY!"

A couple huge drops by Denver helped too...

If that is in fact the case Tomlin has to be about the dumbest and most stubborn coach in all of football. I am not sure why he refuses to admit adjustments, unless he believes this will divulge some secret information teams can't see on film lol

The tale of two halfs. The benching of the new" Toast" Blake and inserting Boykin and playing more man was the key. What I don't understand is WHY Tomlin and Butler keep starting Blake? Hopefully going forward Boykin gets the start and have Blake on the field on special teams and dime. Enough!

Whatever was said turned the light on for this D. How pathetic they looked in the first half, was a 180 in the second. It was amazing. And after the Ben pick, they stepped up and shut the donkeys down.

    Amazing win...

They needed to make adjustments long before half time, only a damn blind man couldnt see denvers receivers running wide open in the secondary in the first half, they gave up 27 points to a struggling offense that didnt score 1 TD in their last game against the raiders, dont give me this kudo crap for half time adjustments when those adjustments needed to be made early in the first quarter, absolutely the poorest coaching job by tomlin and butler for allowing denver to score with ease putting us in a hole we had a hard time digging out of....

Well, that may be but the half time adjustments are the reason we won the game so I, for one, am pretty damn happy with them.

It was a simple basic adjustment to quit playing zone coverage and change it to man coverage, so easy to do anytime on the sideline, why wait till half time to do it, they just made this game a lot harder to win than it had to be is all i'm saying.....

I agree with what you are saying and it is VERY frustrating to watch them screw around all half only to realize they can fix it and be so much better. I'm just saying, in this particular instance, I am ok with them making them - simply because normally they don't make them at all.

Sorry the adjustments didn't come per your liking.

Our secondary looked so much better when blake was benched. Blake doesn't tackle he hit with his shoulder and it if they do not go down there off to the races. I also noticed golden was playing as a third safety in the second half. He seems to be playingreally well and helps our secondary immensely. The only trade off is we are smaller and one of our lone backers are not in.

It was almost like Rocky - waiting to switch to southpaw. Setting them up for a halftime shutdown.

Or, "I know something you don't know. . . I am not left handed".

Foote was on Twitter saying "I'm getting sick from watching so much ZONE defense SMH"

Pretty cool to see a former pro player can see the same thing we were seeing.

No, there really weren't any scheme changes between the two halves. They played up on the line some in the first and off the line some in the first and the same holds true for the 2nd. They simply kept shooting themselves in foot in the first half.

Coach Tomlin and crew finally came through on a promise made a few yrs back in the 2nd half of last night's game:

He finally "unleashed hell"... and opened up a can of 'whoop-azz' while he was at it !

Man coverage... I was screaming the entire first half about this. I kept asking, "If our secondary is that bad why not put them in man coverage? Either way they stand the same chance of getting burned and maybe something new will spark them". I was going to make a shirt about that so I wouldn't have to ask it anymore. I'm glad Tomlin called me at the half and asked for my opinion!
