Kirby Wilson was more involved with the offense? Interesting. :hmmm:

I would have been disappointed if that wasn't the case. I'm glad we're maintaining some continuity.

Apparently, there has been a lot of give and take in Haleys second season then there was in his first. Either TH saw that his "my way or highway" approach wasn't working or MT stepped in and said change your approach, either way, it's more effective now. I also wonder if Kirby is the OC in waiting? I still think TH has head coaching aspirations, he'll move on before long I think.

I agree, the team doesn't need to take 2 steps back now.

But according to NFL Network and their sources Ben wanted to be traded and didn't like the offense he was frustrated. Ian rapoport and Mike Silver are full of crap or they need new sources. I posted the other day about Haley helping Ben and should return next season.

If everybody remembers in Haleys second season with the Cards their offense caught fire the second half of the season just like ours did. I think this team will have a a top 5 offense next year.

That's good to hear, I'd be disappointed if the other assistant coachers weren't involved.

    Deservingly so.
TH's offense could actually extend Bens career.

We finally had an offense line that began to develop. Ben was getting protection, which gave him time in the pocket. Ben seemed to take a step forward too. Maybe these 2 have finally, it was a problem, got on the same page. Running a Haley offense but Haley also letting Ben be Ben.

I saw a lot of improvement, OL, Ben, running game.

So the Steelers offense was ranked what in the 2 years that Haley has been the Steelers OC? 21st and 20th? Talk about rewarding mediocrity.

Ranked around 4th over the second half of the season. Don't know what people are watching if they can't see that. I dislike Haley as much as anyone but I can give credit when it's due.

How much credit goes to Haley, and how much to Ben for succeeding with the no huddle? That's cumbersome. I'm not for crowning Haley king of OC's, but I'm glad he's staying. Continuity is important and firing him right now would be a setback. If we go 8-8 next year, he'll be getting sued by some contractors in another state 2 years from now.

What was it until Ben got hurt last year? From mid Nov until the end this year? I dont like Haley either but whatever the problem was/is they are working on fixing it and it shows.

The team went 8-8 and the offense was ranked around 20th. No credit is due. You can convince yourself that the offense has turned a corner, but we are at 2 subpar Haley years and counting.

Idk if it is all on Haley that the offense improved after our first 4 games, because our offensive personnel improved greatly after the bye (OUT: Redman, Adams Paulson, D. Johnson, IN: Bell, Beachum, Velasco, Miller, Spaeth). However, you can't deny that the O looked way better than they did early in the season. The avg PPG in the NFL this year was 23.4. We scored less than that in 6 of the first 7 games, but more than the avg. in 6 of the last 9.

I was super critical of Haley early in the year, but the offense has really shaped up into something positive. I'm glad he's staying. He's not much of a play caller IMO, but Ben and the O ran his plays pretty well the second half of the season. I hope it continues on a similar trend next year, if not better.

Good to hear since it's been a few years with comments to the contrary. After the SB against GB lots of rumblings about collaboration not happening and the different groups not on the same day.

I hope it continues too. I am just not convinced that it will. If Haley is not that good of a play caller, and the team only got better when Ben and the other coaches got more involved in the game plan and play calling, then what good is Haley?

Not necessarily another state, maybe he goes to the Eagles next! Keeps the PA bar busy.

I am with you BF...Some of the play calling has improved and the Offense got healthy...coupled with the youngest O-line to start the season...I think the offense did well...and I was with you I was never a Haley "fan" actually wanted BA to stay...

On a side note I have no idea why when BA was here people and management looked at it like it was abad thing the O-coordinator and the QB were close.... don't you want that......

No other team would do that to their HOF QB
