Love the fact that this is a story about how Ben said there was no story about an argument that wasn't an argument.

    It's like it's still the off-season!

Its a non story and no big deal...as usual.

That being said, all of these non stories and no big deals could be easily avoided by doing one thing...

JUST STFU Ben. You talk TOO MUCH!

Personally, I think the QB and OC should be having "incidents" during a game and particularly during a game they are loosing. If you care about winning, speak up. Watch Tomlin during a game, he's yelling positive and negative the whole game. Jack Lambert and Joe Greene used to go bonkers during the games. So did the coaches, including Chuck Noll.

Agreed. Great, they had an "incident." Nobody cares, it's a non-issue. What is an issue is Ben running his fat gums yet again. Please STFU Ben. If the media asks, you can lie or be evasive, especially about non-issues like this. Tomin needs to step in once and for all and tell Ben in no uncertain terms that he is to shut his mouth from now on. Stop talking to the media about every tiny little thing that happens, or is said.

You don't see Tom Brady running his mouth about that huge fight he had with his OC last year, despite it being caught by the cameras. Ben is such a drama queen. Can't wait to hear about the next time he gets a hang nail, because I'm sure he'll tell everyone who will listen that his big toe is sore because he cut the nail too short.

Now go ahead and flame me.

Loved that he called out Carter, I like Chris Carter but he was just one of many dopes trying to make a big deal out of it and spin it the wrong way. And I like that Ben was cool headed enough to walk away from a fight with Haley, although I doubt that he will all the time.

Oh, and PLEASE KEEP TALKING BEN! I appreciate truth over lies, and if nothing else, it's funny **** seeing people around here get all bent out of shape about you talking :lolol:

Ben is asked if they've had any "incidents." He answers honestly, and he's a drama queen. He fudges, or refuses to answer, and he's a conceited jerk, and the media runs with the story anyway.

Maybe he could have used better words (I didn't see a problem with it), but I really don't think he'll ever win. No matter what he says, someone will have a problem with it.

I have said this before T.E. it is not so much a truth vs lies type of thing more of a we don't air our business in public vs using the media to deliver a not so subtle jab at someone. While yes I am sure it is Ben's version of the truth and he was answering a question put to him it didn't need to be expressed that way in order to be a truthful answer.

    Here is an example:

Q: Ben have you and Todd butted heads yet? Any disagreements?

A: People are always going to have disagreements that is human nature but when you get into a gametime situation where emotions are high and the adrenaline is flowing you are going to have conflict, everyone can't be in agreement all the time. One thing Todd and I are in total agreement about is that we want to win football games.

IT answers the question truthfully and yet is nonspecific enough that beat writers will have to try a get a follow up, make a story up(which they often do) or just let it drop because there isn't enough there. I like that Ben doesn't try to mislead the media but sometimes they need to keep team business in house and perhaps take a cue from his coach every once in a while and be cryptic like a mountain top guru. :lolol: :lolol:

    No doubt.

If there is one thing Ben and Bradshaw have in common, aside from being multiple SB winners, it's their tendency to speak too candidly with the media.

I think Thorn said it best. You can answer the questions in a way that satisfies the media and doesn't produce these stories.

Or just flat out lie about it. Theres nothing wrong with a little white lie. We all do it. Everyday. No one would be hurt nor the wiser if Ben had forgotten the whole thing and/or just denied it. Especially in light of the way that everything he says is reported and an issue is made. He's not stupid. He's got to be seeing and reading the same things we are and he should realize that often times the less said the better. But I really do think that he actually likes all of the attention and knows exactly what he's doing.

Has nothing to do with talking and everything to do with the way he talks. It was a jab at Haley and it was absolutely uncalled for. He is trying to make himself look like he's a better man than Haley. Also him saying he walked away from one of his coaches almost makes it sound like he's a baby that can't take a bit of criticism.

Reporter: Have you and Haley had any incidents?

Ben: Of course, all coaches and players have arguments now and then, but it's not a big deal. We work together great.

    How difficult is that?

I hope they have several "incidents" when Ben has mental breakdowns like he had in Denver. He missed a wide open Heath Miller in the endzone, missed a wide open Mike Wallace streaking down the field for an easy TD and threw a stupid pick 6 late in the game that sealed the deal for the Broncos. This is great news! Haley will hold Ben accountable for boneheaded mistakes and he made several in the Denver game. I noticed that he played a nearly flawless game against the Jets the week after so maybe Haley will help Ben in that respect. When Ben made those kinds of mental errors with BA it didn't seem that there was much accountability. I've joked before that they appeared to be talking about which one was making dinner reservations for the evening. Anyway, this is absolutely no big deal and to me it's very encouraging if those little incidents help Ben to elevate the mental part of his game.

A few things though. There are some who would even have a problem with how you worded it and secondly, why do people care? Why are people hell bent on changing how Ben interacts with the media? How in the world was Bens answer a problem for some? I just don't comprehend the level that people get upset with Bens answers. Is it because some beat writer or media outles are going to try and make more of a story with it then it is? Ok, my next question is, so what? I really hope no one replies that it's because it's a distraction. That would be super naive to think that is causing a distraction in the locker room. A rape investigation is a distraction, saying that you got into it a little bit with your OC is football. Big deal. Ray D is 100% right, Ben can't win this, no matter how he handles it. I also have zero tollerance for politically correctness, absolutley hate it. That people should govern themselves just so they don't offend some people. I have a better solution, stop being so sensitive (not you directly, just in general). No one in sports handles the media better then Derek Jeter, the guy has it down to a science, and guess what? He's the most boring person on the planet to listen too. I have zero interest in what he has to say, because I fall asleep listening to him, one of my all time favortie Yankees but boring as hell. I'll take Ben uncensored 7 days a week and twice on Sunday, at least he actually says things.

After the way he played in the 2nd half of the Denver game it shouldve been 2 full quarters of 'incidents'. Especially, the interception and the 3 back to back sacks.
