I'm curious as to why the people that are against this, are against it?

Obviously none of us know what will happen, but Haley's offense in Arizona was extremely impressive. Haley worked with a QB that liked to run the offense and call his own plays, had a couple of very talented WR's, and ran an offense that favored the pass but had a good balance... I think that fits what we need to a tee.

The biggest thing I'm hearing is he can be abrasive, but he's not going to be in the spotlight (other than locally really), and it started with him getting in a shouting match with Anquan Boldin, but my question is why is that automatically a bad thing? I loved it this season when Brady and his OC were face to face yelling this season, and after the game Brady said something along the lines of "I screwed up, I deserved to be yelled at." I loved that attitude. Ben could use a kick in the ass.

I like it, this will give the sidelines the spark they've been needing for awhile. I bet Todd is doing back flips. He had the #1 running game in 2010. ( probably what sold it)

I'm surprised, especially after reading Peter King's column this morning. King reiterates a story that Haley claimed the Chiefs had bugged his phone, a claim that didn't sit well with a lot of GMs.

I'm beginning to think Bouchette is a goofball! If you've ever sat in on one of his chats he can pretty condescending and evasive when it comes to answering any question. It appears that Bouchette (and some of these other Pittsburgh beat writers) don't know what the heck they're talking about half the time. I put more credibility in some of the stuff that's speculated on this board than I do in some of the articles these guys write. Waiting for Kirby Wilson to recover was just wishful thinking on Bouchette's part!

Anyone who reported they were waiting for Kirby Wilson to get better is out of their minds. I'd found all of those reports laughable if a man in a medical coma wasn't involved.

I understand Wilson is getting better, and that's great. But we're not talking about a limp here, we're talking about sitting up, talking, eating. Who knows if he will even be able to go to games next year, let alone get to work in February.

Will Wilson be the next OC, after Haley? Maybe. He stood a 0% chance of being the OC this year. He'll be lucky if he can be the RB coach again. I bet we'll have to get someone else to either take over, or supplement for him.

I like the hire. That guy is passionate, and watching a few Chiefs games the last 2 seasons I was pretty impressed. Right out of the gate to get hit with some big injuries- to keep fighting the way they did, and to basically have a chance at winning the Steelers game with Palko.....this is a good hire.

IF this is true.........then the Rooney's have spoken and THEY call the shots and OWN this team! I will have faith that it will work out. Can't wait to hear Ben's first comments made public on the hiring.

Yes - on paper, it seems like a good hire. His love of Pittsburgh and the Steelers are not insignificant. Also, he brings that connection with the dynasty of the 70s. He should know the Steeler way to get it done.

I like the Hire for multible reasons.

First he's a proven OC who been to the SB so that stage should not be too big for him.
Second,he has been a Head Coach, and though he had to deal with the remains of herm edwards/injurys/ he could have done well there if not for an impatient GM with an ego.
Third, he's not gonna be Ben's or anyone else's friend but their coach.

I hope Art ll now tells Ben, Go ask Todd what he wants from you and this offense because he's your boss!!

Cassel was pretty much a system QB who was a flop in KC so that didn't help Haley's offense. Hopefully, he will have better results here.
