Not sure where you get that he's garbage. His career as an OC is limited to a very good stint with AZ. The man can obviously run an offense.

I agree, 2 years ago that Cheifs team was very tough.... they ran the ball very well, and Cassell had good year. This year they took a bunch of injuries right out the gate...... I think Haley would be a good hire. Need someone in there that has some passion- some give a F^&* , you know!

His work has been nothing great and has had several meltdowns with personnel over the years and would be a bad fit here, that's what makes him garbage.

But word is "he was a terrific ball boy!" That alone should be enough.

Was about to post the same thing... at least edit the copy and paste to get rid of the useless stuff.

Anyways, Haley... I can see it happening. I don't think he'll bring in some dazzling new system that takes years to adjust to, and right now that's one of my worries about new blood. I don't have any huge problems with him as a hire - but I do wonder if there are better candidates.

my appoligies, don't know why it came up that way. i wouldn't want you to throw a finger out of joint scrolling or something. anyway he fights with players, coaches and management. whiz ran the show for most of the first year at ariz. the cowpokes were nothing to write home about. the chiefs had one decent year in a weak division. alot of blowout losses, that they couldn't score in at many a place while under his guidence. no consistancy. isn't that what we are after?

what "better" candidates? no one on espn, nfl network or any other sports show is talking about any other candidates. why wouldn't we f heard about any other candidates? maybe there just isn't any other candidates out there. are these other candidates hiding under a rock or something?

This is where all the greats have gotten their start...don't you know anything? There is, no he wasn't a ball boy, ok, Tom, no, he wasn't either...anyhow Haley was and that should be good enough!

Yes, saw his name too, Dulac of Post Gazette has a short article saying it doesn't look like Haley will get the position. He doesn't site any specific reason as to why other then he isn't a goof fit. So I don't know if he heard something internally that he won't get it or just speculating like us. He mentioned Van Pelt in that same article.

Tom Clements is also on the radar. I would have no problem seeing him offered the position.

At Arkansas State and Memphis! Yeah, sure, he may be a "diamond in the rough," BUT...I'd feel a whole lot more comfortable if his experience were at, say, Auburn or USC or Oregon.

IF Haley is hired as OC, I guarantee you it is an order coming from Rooney. Tomlin wants no part of this guy. This would completely be on Dan's shoulders if it were to happen. And if it does, it will not end pretty. Haley is a headcase and Ben is too arrogant for that non-sense. Haley's head would explode on the sideline after Ben audibled and cancelled out 3 straight plays he called in. Bombs away Bruce will live on no matter who the OC is unfortunately.

when you look at Pitts sidelines they always look flat , Haley could be the spark that this team needs.

My money is on the PPG and Dulac. More often than not over the years Dulac's been right when it comes to Steeler personnel changes. Although that is also wishful thinking on my part since I wouldn't wanna see Haley in the job for the same reasons many of the other folks said, primarily that he's a known hot head and a hard guy to get along with. We don't need to go from an offensive lovefest (Ben & BA) to a military bootcamp with Haley. Something in the middle would work much better.

it's alot easier when you have all the blue chip talent, like at oregon or auburn or usc. he made it national with alot lesser recruited guys. it's still x's and o's. with more talent shouldn't it be even better?

I agree PPG has been more accurate over the years.
