Maybe none, his playoff record is less then stellar. I disagree with the OP about his overall assessment of Manning, but to act like we would have racked up SB rings with him isn't accurate either. Manning is a great regular season QB, not so much in the playoffs.

Hes also had pretty much the best collection of weapons compared to any QB his ENTIRE career...

I'll take Brady over him all day... the dude is throwing to 5 guys from walmart and he still gets it done...

No way is manning better than Brady.... Brady is throwing to 5 guys from walmart and manning has had arguably the greatest collection of weapons his ENTIRE career...

And Brady still gets it done...

Every QB has a supporting cast. Funny that no one ever blames a QB's suckage on bad receivers though.

Peyton is probably the only big-time qb, to play for another team, that I don`t just instinctively HATE!
Other than maybe Dan Fouts, and, (If he hadn`t played for the Faiders), Ken Stabler...
I can`t believe, that Mac, is the only one (so far), who has mentioned that TB should be mentioned in the "best of all time", conversation...
Yeah, I give Montana his props, too... but at the time, I absolutely HATED the Niners, `cause they were building a dynasty like we had. Without that being factored in... Yeah, he has to be in the top 5 all-time.
To say Peyton Manning is a joke, or a "scrub", is to say you just can`t watch football with a subjective eye.
    And, I admit, I often can`t...
I am highly predgidoused(even if I can`t spell it), towards the Steelers, And I think Elway, was just a buck-toothed, goofy lookin SOB, even if he did rob the Clowns of one of their only chances to get to the bowl...
I just can`t help it... I just don`t like him!!!
But, I do, have to begrudginly admit... The dude was a hell of a qb...
Our own Ben Roethlisberger, wears number 7, because he wants to be a qb like him, that can lead teams on game winning drives in the last minutes of the game...
    Peyton a "scrub'?!?
    Learn some football, kid...
    GO STEELERS!

I didn't jump in this conversation to rank QBs. My intent was only to point out that it is a joke to not give Manning his due. If I were ranking I would have to assess like Mac and put TB in the discussion due to the Bowl wins. Marino is not a bad comparison to Manning...they both were/are great QBs. I don't buy into the supporting cast argument because you still have to get the ball to the receiver and, well, not many do it like Manning or Brady. I am a Big Ben fan so don't think I'm taking anything away from our guy. Ben is twice as exciting to watch win or lose!

Your man crush is so good you had to say the same thing about him in consecutive posts? That list was compiled after extensive polling and it's been determined that, of the one adult football fan polled, (me) this is the order that QBs fall in. Bradshaw is definitely top 10, as is Favre but they both threw too many INTs.

Manning threw for 289 yards and two TD's on Thursday. Denver's D couldn't stop Matthews and gave up almost 9 yards per pass attempt.

Griese only started 1/2 the games that year due to an injury though. He was a great game manager, and at times Ben has reminded me of him. But Griese was not in the top level of all time Qbs.

Of course they're all opinions and we all know what those are like!
IMO, my poll is just as scientific as Rasmussen!

that was supposed to be somewhat tongue in cheek jimmy. was it don strock, or earl morrell(sp?)? either were a couple of the best backups a team could have.

I rate great qb's as guys that can lead there team. find weaknesses in the defense on any given play. it doesn't matter who the receivers are because they can make the throws when that receiver gets open, and know when that is, with accuracy.

many qb's over the years made livings off of putting the ball in the right peoples hands. marino had the marks. ( duper and clayton) Montana had roger craig and rice and the TE's name eludes me right now. a lot of the yards and scores came after short throws, but the guys were open and the ball was delivered at the right time and point. qb's are just distributors of the rock, teams win the games.

aikmen, stabbach, Tarkington, fouts, Anderson, stabler, Kelly, starr, dawson, blanda, heck the list goes on. there have been a lot of good qb's over the years that didn't have the luxury of the rules that they have today.

Honestly, it's a bit ridiculous to rate QB's. Now, to have a "best all time" list that doesn't necessarily rank the qb's would be a better fit. How else do you compare Unitas and Starr to today's QB's? If you want to rank them, then rank them among their era. Based on what's been done, QB's from the last decade include Brady, Manning, and Ben. From this decade, the list is long and there is not one who is head and shoulders above the rest. If we go by wins, you have to include Flacco, which is ridiculous. P. Manning, E. Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees all are tops. If I had to make a prediction, I would guess that Rodgers or Brees would distinguish themselves from this group by the end of the decade.

Manning is a great QB whose cranium will use up a lot of valuable space in the Hall, along w/ the heavy lifting capability to get it into place. Once the dust settles his bust will see, among st others, Ben Roethlisberger's.

As to ranking, it's too early for me to fit the pieces neatly into place.
The book will have chapters not yet written.

Nothing against Bradshaw, the guy won 4 SB's and that counts for something, but he had one of the best defences in history.

If I needed a quarterback for one big play at one critical moment in a Super Bowl, I'd take Bradshaw ALL DAY LONG!! He was money on the biggest stage when he needed to be!

This. I usually ignore statements concerning best individual players in football, as it is the ultimate team sport. QBs need an O-line and weapons. A great QB with a lousy O-line is mediocre at best. A mediocre QB looks outstanding with a stud O-line. And receivers with good feet and hands help, too. And the QB doesn't even interact with half the team, the defense, who clearly helps a QB look good if they are stellar. I also get tired of statements like "Brady vs. Manning", as they aren't even on the field at the same time. Too hard to separate QB play from that of the rest of the team. Now a debate on the best team of all time - that is worth joining in.

Yeah, I seen that argument used to deflate Bens accomplishments too. Has no bearing. TB was very clutch and a huge part of winning 4 SB's.

Of all time, yes, thus far, but the thread was talking about Manning Brady and where they'll stand in the equation.

Notice, I threw in Ben. Ranking them, respectively, for me not yet.
