Apparently I think it's gonna be sacks by committee this year, with Jarvis Jones leading the bunch at only 6.5.

That would be 42.5 for the year, good enough for 7th in the league last year, so it's an optimistic take. I have Harrison and Jones combining for 12 sacks, and Moats/Dupree combining for 10. I wanted to give McLendon more, because I know he'd get him if they let him play the nickel, and every year I think they'll finally let him, and every year I'm disappointed. Maybe Butler will leave him in more, but probably not. So he only gets 2.

 

I'm pretty close but I think Heyward could get around nine with Butler letting him loose.

 

Yeah, a lot of people have Heyward's number climbing even higher next year. My theory is that Heyward was already let loose, moreso than others - at least he played like it, whether or not he was supposed to. However, I think he'll draw more protection this year. Teams can't afford to single-block him any longer. I think he'll do more absorbing, and that'll push other numbers up.

Hopefully both things happen!

 

Speaking of Heyward, I realy hope they get an extension done with him.

With some possible changes to the defense it's hard to guess where the sacks are going to come from.
You're list seems like a pretty good guess and makes since if they are going to let the DL get in on the fun for a change.

 

I would bump Tuitt up 1.5 Debo ? Butler has him @ 15-25 snaps per game he was near 40 last season and giving some love to Williams up 1. It's a crap shoot at best though i can live with 40ish

 

if they keep timmons around the line more and allow shazier more coverage duties, i think LT will have around 6-8. i think heyward and tuitts will be more and will change for them and our OLB'ers as teams try to figure out who to put the extra blocker on. our DE's or our OLB'ers, or our rush up the middle (LT). somebody different could have big games every week with this type of mix. who gets the double team is the question. it will put alot of pressure on guys like shazier and shark and mitchell to take up the slack of sending extra players from all these positions, but with their speed, i think it's doable.

 

Motion to have Steel_Elvis stripped of his mod duties and removed from the board entirely for suggesting Cam Thomas is still on the team when the season starts.

Seriously though, interesting list. Tuitt the sack leader and Jarvis with only 2.5. I'm skeptical of Jarvis' ability to get sacks, but I gave him the lead because - aside from the light going on for him a bit - I think he'll get the most playing time out of the 4 guys we have.

I think moats will have a better total than most people on here. he had 4 in part time play and if he starts, I believe he is well worth doubling that output.

 

We dont know the starting D line or OLBs yet. Its a shot in the dark at this point. Bud Dupree could ride pine all year due to nagging rookie injuries, Harrison could start all year and get 12 sacks, Arthur Moats could start opposite harrison and leave us with Jarvis on the bench. McCullers could play in more packages or ride pine all year.

Could see more spence or vince williams vs shazier.....

heck Shamarko could get 4 sacks this year, you never know how he may be utilized
