    Just looking for excuses here.

Let’s start with the grimble fumble. I have yet to see a good view of this. Does anybody have any videos showing the football being knocked out before he gets in? It seemed to be really close, but I have zero closure on the play and it wasn’t even reviewed in any way.

Next, the Connor fumble. It looked to me that one of the broncos players was out of bounds trying to get the ball. He was touching the guy who eventually recovered. Isn’t this, by rule, out of bounds? Or did they rule it that the bronco player recovered before his teammate touched him? Or am I completely wrong and the player has to touch the ball for it to be considered out?

All in all, terrible terrible terrible turnovers. I hope this team learns from this loss and smashes the chargers.

Grumble should be released after that.. No need for 3 tight ends anyway

Grumble clearly fumbled that prior to crossing and the ball went out of the end zone. Just a horrid play as he could have easily avoided contact.

On the Connor fumble.. the player touching the ball has to be out of bounds for the ball to be out of bounds. Other players touching that player doesnt matter if they dont touch the ball. On the Grimble fumble.. the replays showed the ball out before he got to the goal line

Yep, Grimble has said he could have went around him but wanted to go through him. Just not smart football. I like violence on the field as much as the next guy, but if you can walk into the end zone for a score why not do that instead of trying to smash through another human being who is hell bent on stopping you? Just reeks of stupidity.

Grimble could have completely stopped and then fallen into the end zone. The defensive player would have missed him completely.

Everything always manages to go wrong for us in Denver... Normally in embarrassing, epic fashion. I don't know what it is about that place.. Tebow game, Toussaint fumble in playoffs, Clark almost died there, yesterday's countless gaffes. Other than the 2005 AFCCG, I can't think of anything good happening there.. i know we won a game there in 2009, but i don't even remember it.

Both were clearly fumbles and cost us the game, along with the terrible Ben INT at the end.

    We gave this game away.

Still in a good spot though overall.

The Broncos at least did something to earn that one.

Sure, the defender put a good hit on Grimble, but that was really a result of his stupidity and carelessness. Conner simply lost control of the ball while being h hit low on his fumble. It wasn't as if the guy put a helmet on the ball, punched it out or even got a good hit on him.

Those were sloppy and easily avoidable mistakes.

mcdonald drop right in the hands. washington dropped pass. ben missing wide open juju. forcing the ball to AB double covered. the throw to nobody but orange jerseys. conner fumble. moving the ball and having to get cute with AB throwing it. bostic and vince are bad against the run. jesse catches the ball twice for first downs and never sees the ball again. samuels as well. wasting time outs in the 3rd qtr. the list goes on. way too many self inflicted bungles on the year including penalties. probably won't change any time soon.

I’ve always been more of a scrawny distance-runner type. If I were huge and had been trucking guys since 8th grade, my split-second decision would probably be to truck this one, too.

But yeah. Breaking the plane is paramount.

To be fair, the trick play with Brown throwing to Samuels would have been a touchdown if he could have made a decent throw. The design worked. Samuels was wide open.

Grimble shouldn't see any more snaps unless someone is injured. Don't need any selfish players thinking about highlight reels.

Get into the damn end zone. Be a team player.

Agree. The math/physics just weren't in Grimble's favor on that play. He's not overly-large for a TE, and had a safety running full-speed at a lateral angle. Simple physics says he was going to get crushed, and he did. 99 players out of 100 make a juke and step into the endzone untouched.

But the Broncos sniffed out the back end of it and were about to drill Brown, hence the bad throw.

    But agree mostly.

grimble should be cut immediately...... If you can not hold on to the friggin football when your bracing for contact then you do not belong playing in the national football league. Connors was bad but atleast he was getting turned around and in position for defense to knock it loose.......

The grimble one was frustrating because he didn’t need to do that. He could’ve scored without contact or minimal contact.

The Conner one isn’t as surprising. He hasnt shown very good ball control this season (already 4 fumbles in 250 touches, which is one fumble about every 2-3 games). I really like what he’s done this year, but he appears to be a fumbler. It appears to be fixable, but he’s going to have to work on it.

People really need to stop with this inaccurate garbage about the ball being knocked loose from Conner. The defender didn't touch the ball. In fact, the defender didn't touch him anywhere near the ball. He was hit in the upper thigh/hip area and the ball just popped out of his grasp.

They were two costly and easily avoidable errors. Denver did not beat us. We beat ourselves. They're re not the better team. They didn't play better.....they just didn't play worse. Time to move on...

All your points are well taken Mac, but.....a cute play involving Boz and AV kept the Steeler's in that game (until they weren't). But you're right - cute is only good when it works. My fave cute play - 82 to 86 in SB XL. We'd still be moaning if that hadn't worked.
