Gruden for OC?

Would Mike MCarthy consider John Gruden for OC to help with Will?

 

Wishful thinking but it simply wouldn’t work.

 

I'd love it, personally. He would also make for a really great (arguably even better) QB coach, imo. His ongoing and controversial legal battles with the NFL and huge revenue from his current and highly lucrative sports analysis gig make it seem like his hiring would be highly unlikely, at best, though.

On the flip side, football is clearly Gruden's life passion, and if there's anyone who would set aside a media gig for a smaller paycheck just to be out there and actively working in the sport, it would probably be Gruden. The man lives and breathes NFL football, 24/7/365. And his demonstratedly excellent rapport with Will Howard obviously could make him an attractive dark horse candidate for a position in MM's personel.

I strongly doubt AR2 would agree with these sentiments, but, personally, I wouldn't be at all displeased with bringing Gruden into the offensive fold in some form or another. But, yeah, as @86WardsWay noted, it is almost certainly wishful thinking.
