And nothing says "I'm a casual fan who just happened to get tickets" like not knowing the rules. Just like the douchebag sitting next to me.

Doesn't know face mask rules on bogus facemask call. Said should have been 5. Says miller fumble wasn't a catch (and ADAMANT about it).

e: did it just sound like it on TV or was it insanely loud at the game?

Suprised Franco isnt on the field. Didn't we give him the key to the city? I am way jealous first you attended this game and secondly you got to see Franco close up. I see him (Or atleast his statue) in the airport every time I fly into the Burgh.

Yeah, Club East. My tix are in 118, but one of my friends who I grew up with since grade school is now the VP of a local environmental company that works closely with the gas industry. His company has 8 season tix in Club East plus he has got connections to get more as needed. If he's got extra he sometimes throws a couple my way or his broker will swap mine out for club seats. Today I traded mine for those. Sec 211, sitting on the 45 yard line.

Dude that's so awesome you got to see Mel Blount. I sat in the club seats a few years ago and they were really awesome. I was on about the 10 though on the visitors side. I still had access to the lounge which was sweet. Do you ever go watch from indoors during bad weather games? I really like to be outside more but I bet since you're there a lot you probably wanna take advantage of that huh?

Haha. Its usually last minute invites. Like less than the drive time from Missouri kinda last minute.

A few years ago Louie Lipps was sitting at the bar. We ended up drinking with him and his wife during the second half. I've told that one before, but long story short, I was a little tanked and it didn't look like him so I asked him for ID. He was a little pissed at first but after a few beers with us he loosed up and whipped out his license. Guy likes to drink, thats for sure.

But yeah, the lounge is kinda addictive. Usually sit in the seats for the 1st half, then go in for a beer at halftime. Thats where we meet up (seats are scattered around Club East), continue drinking and watch the second half on the huge-ass TV they have in there. It turns into a bunch of guys at a sports bar with a really expensive cover charge.

Its definitely a different world than the non-club seats.

Yeah that's why the inside doesn't really appeal to me because I don't drink and so I would mostly just be like a random guy hanging around giving everyone the creeps. LOL. I do like the fact that the bathrooms are nicer and you can get your concessions quicker. I also thought that tv was really sweet too. I still have a lot of pictures I took from when I was in there.

It is nice, but when you get down to it its not why you're there. You're supposed to be out in the stands, but they make it soooo appealing. Especially when there is a group of people who can hang around together. If it were just two of us, we would spend more time in the seats. Club tix are usually one or maybe two games a year for me, but this year I've been there every game so far. Once was my neighbor who has never been to a game, but got her company tix and the other two my buddy has just had extra. Its a result of them being so bad. He literally has a hard time giving them away and they're easier to come by. Today he threw his annual tailgate party for one of the drillers and his ticket broker stopped by and swapped out my tix.

Yeah that's the way I feel about it too. For me I just love to be out there and feel like I'm "with" the team. That's why I don't like to sit in the upper deck because I just feel a little closer to the team when I'm near the field. Also, and I've talked to other fans at games about this too, I've found that when you sit up high you're around more sorta (I'm trying to be nice here) less sophisticated people that tend to be much more potty mouthed and rowdy. ESPECIALLY in Cincy. Other people at cincy games have told me this too. I would rather pay an extra hundred or two and have a more positive experience but I realize not everyone can do that. In Pittsburgh the people I sat around in the club were really nice and we were all bro-hugging and high fiving each other. I will definitely try and sit in those seats again when I'm back there. I think they were only like $175 from a scalper. Is that a pretty good deal? I suppose that's subjective though.

Yes that is Mel Blount and YES he's parked in a handicap spot.
The guy is still a physical specimen and probably quite capable of kicking my ass, yet he's got a handicap parking tag.
