He is supposed to practice so 21 days to activate him. Should be a very good weapon. Having a vertical threat down the middle opens a lot up.

Will be very tough for defenses with him and Coates on the field. On top of that, they have to worry about AB and Bell. Not a fun task.

They should be in good shape after the bye week. Would have loved to have that Miami win but they are still in first and getting important players back. Get that Baltimore victory and don't look back.

Who gets released to make room? I guess Grimble is the obvious answer, but I've liked what I've seen from him. Johnson wouldn't have PS eligibility at this point in his career, so... I may have just answered my own question.

I agree, but Johnson has experience and can play a FB role as well, so I think we know how this decision will go.

Agree would rather have Grimble just so no one poaches him. Roosevelt Nix only had 2 snaps on offense so hopefully he gets back in the swing after the bye as well. We could use that extra blocking option to make that decision harder.

Dear sweet Christ no - he's the only TE who can block. Why would you release him?

Could be Cobi Hamilton goes back to the PS.....then no decision to be made until Dupree comes off IR

I would rather dump DJ with Nix coming back to pick up the blocking part of the equation. Grimble seems like a gamer. Crappy TC and crappy practices, but shows up on Sunday when he has the opportunity. Hate to see him vulnerable on waivers, then PS. Would he get poached? IDK, Virgil Green's not doing much w/ Denver, JT never seems to play in Jax, Tampa has a TE by committee along with Houston, Bal somewhat, Cincy unless Eifert finally goes, Oak. Teams might take a chance on the kid.

Marcus Gilbert should be back then they can send Brian Milhalik back to the practice squad. Maybe they cut or IR Shamarko Thomas?

Heard a couple times now that the coaches are high on Grimble, I doubt they risk losing him. Hope not anyway, I like what I've seen from him.

Is Green that good. I mean so he got a contract. He has 0 snaps with Ben. I hope they ease him into things. I honestly have my doubts. Ben has never played with a deep TE threat. Hopefully he is half as good as Heath was at reading a zone and staying with the plays. Hope all goes well. Besides blocking I didn't really see a problem with out TE's in receiving situations. Just do not see him adding a ton to the offense. I wonder if he would be any good at rushing the passer??

What a good receiving TE who can stretch the field does is create tough personnel decisions and matchup problems for the opponent. If you go 12 personnel with 2 TEs, and the defense counters with base personnel, you can split a guy like Green out wide and be in 11 personnel with 3 legit outside receivers against base personnel. If they counter by going nickel, you run out of a 2 TE set and have a mismatch in the run game. Obviously this is predicated on the TE being able to block. If Green can run block effectively, he will create matchup problems that we currently lack with our TEs.

it will probably be grimble. he has a better chance of clearing waivers and being re-signed to the PS. hamilton would probably be snatched up at this point. wallace was a consideration and so is shark, either of whom could be ir'ed if they are still not healthy. the fact that we have to have mihalik active for another week would lend credence to it being grimble and then the following week bringing him back in place of mihalik.:smiley1::cool:

You won't get much for him maybe a 6th or 7th rd pick for him, he's injured and in the last year of his contract. They are better off letting him leave as a free agent and get the compensatory pick in return.
