My dad had orders to GFAB in late 75 so we moved to Grand Forks from PA. My sister was born on base in 76 and we moved off base in 78 into GF proper, my dad got out shortly after. We always talked about moving back east but it never happened because it was during that economic downturn in the 80's in PA where jobs were hard to come by. So we just never left ND. So spent the majority of my life either in GF or Fargo. It is a frozen hellscape every winter lol. My cousin used compare winters in PA to the ones we had in ND, yeah the minus 10 degree temp is the same but it's the wind that's a killer. Wind starts up in Alberta or Lake Winnipeg and just sweeps down towards Nebraska with nothing stopping it, 50 below wind chills. That screenshot @Blast Furnace posted from Fargo is accurate literally nothing stopping the wind in ND except some shelter belts an a stray hill here and there. Life in North Dakota isn't easy am I right?
