Blast sounds like a junior-varsity cheerleader, and his posting has fallen below the line. And so forth, obviously.

I assume that you include Joey Porter, Keith Butler and Mike Tomlin in that 'some of us', they're his buddies, see him everyday and decided that they'd rather keep a guy like Sean Spence - who was bagging groceries two weeks ago -- over JH. That, to mr, says it all.

Man you have some serious dislike for SS. He's not great by any stretch, but not near the bum you're making him out to be. I'm not sure who they're supposed to play that's night and day better than him? I personally would rather see Fort play, but I have to believe that the coaches know what's best.

Naw man it is not dislike, I base what I feel on what I see. I am not impressed with SS and I hope like heck he makes me eat my words cause it don't matter who puts on the Steelers uni I will root for them.

My opinion on SS is more towards the coaching staff cause they are the ones that keep putting him out there. We are in a crappy situation with what has happened to RS but I feel that with all the "next man up" talk why to to the next man off the couch??? That is what has me pissed more than anything, play the guys on the team and if not why have them there? TM, Moats and Fort should have been given time before SS imo(again this is a message board where you give your opinion) and if SS was to work his way in I would be fine, but work your way in. I hope that clears it up I don't hate any Steeler I will call them out on their play but that what we do here right?:smiley1:

I'm a little miffed as to why Fort didn't get the snaps. Moats played some ILB in Buffalo, but he doesn't have the coverage skills needed for what the Steelers are trying to do on defense. I'm guessing SS must have been the best option in the coaches eyes.

I thought Moats would be and honestly when we looked so bad after the first game I expected to see Watt moved inside....

If he was capable of sacking anyone 3 times, he would not be unemployed.

No, some of you know what he used to be able to do and fail to realize he can't do it any more.

He can still rush the passer and at a good rate, he just hasn't been able to be given the chance....

He has the same problems that VW, Shair and Spence do. They see the first open gap and rush to fill it instead of flowing to the ball. Fort sees that hole and fills it meanwhile either Blue or Miller says thank you I'll just take this other opening now that you are blocked. Not sure if Jerry is teaching them that or what but that is why you get gashed as the DL move up field instead of holding a line

Based on what? 5 sacks he had last year? You are clearly thinking with your heart. His play is only going to keep declining as he gets older.

I hate like hell how he went out but they made the only decision that was really available to them.

Maybe he will be back this week.

Based on the fact he can still rush, based on the fact that he gets as much pressure as Dupree and yes based on the 5 sacks in limited action. All you guys are acting like I am saying he is some kind of pro bowler, no I am not. What I am saying he still has enough in the tank to finish out the season and offer something to this team.

If this were the first week I would be fine with it, but week 16???? This is a guy like I have said over and over on here who came out of retirement to help a team that he loved. This is a guy who is our sack leader, this is a guy who is a workout warrior and a major influence on these younger players.

Is he getting old heck yeah, is he a starter heck no but I would love to see him on the field 3rd and long giving guys a break. He is a part time players who still can rush the passer. So your telling me there are no other moves. Ok how about McCiullers......Hargrave is a part time player and you see Heyward playing inside a lot, why do we need big Dan? Or here is one why do we need 3 guys to play one position(Spence,Moats,Fort) one of them could have been sent packing.

Sorry one of the things I love about this team is how they do the right thing most of the time. I don't know what has happened behind closed doors I am guessing there was something that happened with JH & coaching. Not sure but to treat JH like this and for so many to act like he offers nothing is just wrong. Guys that offer nothing is Big Dan, Spence & Moats and if you don't think so just check out the stats from yesterday. We gave up 108 yards to Blue and 176 total rush yards, vs a team playing a QB who was on the couch(next to SS) a few weeks back. But that's ok JH is washed up........man I hate to see what you think of a washed up ILB!!!!

What is the drop dead date for signing James? I’m guessing you can’t pick up a guy once the playoffs start?

Are people ready to back away from the ledge now that he was not picked up? Seems like if he were the missing piece for the Ravens or Patriots as people seemed to think that he'd have been picked up already. I think people need to realize that Harrison has very limited usefulness at this point. He is simply too slow to cover and isn't the rusher he used to be. He could still have some use in certain situations but I don't see him as someone with much value around the league. Remember that he was not exactly in high demand after his stint with the Bengals and he had to be talked out of retiring. The freak out over his release was a bit much.
