As always, excited about Pitt football especially with the resurrection of the Backyard Brawl tomorrow night. Very curious how they perform this season without arguably their 2 most talented players - Pickett and Addison. The high number of return players on both O and D line should help but the intangibles that Kenny brought is a steep hill to climb. Always enjoy seeing the top pre-season favorites take a tumble as well as the rise of smaller schools from obscurity like Cincinatti this past year. Buckle up! :thumbs up:

Pitt's defense has been good against the run, and they have gotten after Daniels (who has had a gold horsehoe up his backside), but their secondary stinks.

West Virginia's player number 0 should be embarrassed by that pick. Went right through His hand for a pick 6,and sealed the deal. It was a great game.

Not sure how WV lost that game. They monopolized both sides of the line for the most part. Slovis doesn't look like an experienced 5th year Senior - his receivers did most of the work. Love Pitt but they were very fortunate to get the W. But same can be said about NE and Brady over the years as well. Luck is merely preparation meeting opportunity. Lots to clean up Narduzzi. :hmm:

I went to bed with about 10 minutes left. I was tired and I had a headache. I figured Pitt was done. Damn.

Yeah, that FSU vs LSU game might have been the game of the year for CFB. My wife joined me in the family room in the 4th quarter with FSU up 24-10. Having no allegiance to either team, she of course immediately latched onto the underdog and was rooting for LSU. From her immediate reaction to the blocked extra point you’d think she’d been bleeding purple and gold for ever. The QBs in that game showed something. The FSU QB made smart plays all day. The LSU QB was decisive and accurate on the 99 yard TD drive. He was iffy all game until that point, but in that moment he played very well.

Speaking of QBs, I watched the Florida vs Utah game Saturday and Anthony Richardson had a nice coming out party. His physical tools for the QB position have got to have NFL scouts salivating. Start with Josh Allen’s size and arm, and then cut 2-3 tenths off of his 40 time and you have Richardson. When you watch him it’s clear that his head for the game hasn’t caught up with his body, but he can do that, look out.

I went to the UCONN game - a 28-3 win over Central CT. It’s a stepping stone, and that’s about it. They have a long way to go to shed the stench of last year (1-11), but they have a legit coach to lead them back to relevance (Jim Mora). Home vs. Syracuse next Saturday night! The place will be rocking like it hasn’t rocked in years.

I actually thought the Pittsburgh- W. Virginia, and the Utah- Florida game was better than the LSU- Florida St. game....

Must have been some real doozies if they were better than that game. A guy could watch all season and not see a better ending.
