Great Playoff Simulator

Check this out. This NY Times simulator allows you to project the probability of the Steelers making the playoffs. You can set the results of as many games as you want to come up with scenarios.

Step 1 - Select Steelers

Step 2 - Pick the winners in the Steelers' remaining games to see the probability of making the playoffs depending upon which games we win or lose. For example, I selected losses against Seattle and Denver and wins in our other 4 games. The simulator projected us as making the playoffs in 93% of outcomes (mostly the 6th seed). The outcomes of other games are simulated with Sagarin ratings used to establish the odds of each team winning.

Step 3 - You can dig deeper and override the simulator for any other games . For example, I overrode the simulator and gave the Jets wins in all remaining games, and the simulation dropped our playoff chances to 48%.

 

Nice. In my scenario, they make the playoffs 96% of the time.
