we scored 21 with backups. we were down there to score again and i have to think with starters we put that one in the EZ too. that's 28 points. thats a good day for any qb in this league. the offense didn't let the browns back in this one.

With JuJu and Brown I sure as heck would like Ben for another season. I have nothing against Jones but just can't see him keeping us an elite team.

He is disliked because he looked like flaming hot garbage his first two years in pre-season. Everybody wrote him off as a scrub.

However, people who care about pre-season are losers. In real games Landry Jones has been more than adequate. I’m 5 starts he’s 3-2, has a 64 percent completion percentage, a positive 8/7 TD/INT ratio, and a career 86 QB rating. Those are pretty good numbers for a quality back up and fare very favorably with guys who are thought of as the highest quality career backups around the league (albeit in a small sample size).

I agree that we are fortunate to have him. He’s performed mostly well when we’ve needed him (and he’s done so down a bunch of starters week 17 on multiple occasions). He’s absolutely everything you’d want in a back up QB.

He played well against a Cleveland who was playing their Superbowl. I don't think it was anything extraordinary as Cleveland didn't beat anyone all year.

Landry Jones is great for what he is, a backup that can come in and play well against average defenses and steal a win when needed. He is not someone who is going to consistently win, especially against above average defenses.

I don't think most people hate Landry, I think it's more that people get the notion that he is Ben's heir apparent and are not happy with that idea.

If Dobbs threw an INT, Fumbled and curled up into fetal position before getting sacked you would have his head... LJ sucks.. he played the Browns, without the JUju 96 yarder he lost.

I rather be shocked and I will eat my crow all day long, if Landry turns into Case Keenum

Wow that’s all I have to say about that. I didn’t realize the ball was magically floating to the WRs. Yeah you’re right no other player had anything to do with the win other than JuJu. Lmao

There fixed it for you guys. I sure wish you all would keep up with finer details of TSF MB Code of Honor and Ethics, this is getting tiresome. And where the hell are the Mods? Aren't they suppose to be the one's keeping law and order around this place? Whatever happened to civilized discourse?

Ok what about the other 21? Sorry it impossible to point to one single play in any football game and say that’s why we won. Furthermore how do you know Jones doesn’t March us down the field for another TD.

This game came down to the battle of those two opposing players memorialized in that classic Steeley Dan song: "Hey 19!" :lolol:

His last two starts were against awful Browns teams in the final game of the regular season, so those really don't mean much. They also skew his statistics. For example, his touchdown/interception ratio in those two games is 4/2. In his other three starts, it is 4/5.

i'm pretty sure he wasn't playing defense against the hopeless browns as you all say. we were without one starter on defense. they gave up the 24 points not LJ.

    Why say Landry hate??

OK.. Its like we have Bell as our RB.. awesome.. Then we have Dwyers and Summers as the backups to Bell..
We can do better at our QB backup position.

Batch and Leftwich have spoiled Steelers fans. Those guys got to play with the A-team. Landry Jones has to play with backups on OL, RB and #1 WR.

    This, all day.

He's a decent backup. Like I pointed out elsewhere, they nearly lost to the 0-0 Browns with Ben. The LJ lead offense scored 20, should have been enough.

I honestly don't believe the Steelers FO is looking at LJ as the heir apparent to #7. Ease off on the hate, geez.

He also had top playmakers sitting in those games as well. No AB, Bell, Pouncey, etc. Those guys being gone really brought our offensive power level down closer to the Browns. Had he been able to throw to AB/Bell, had Bell to hand off to/pass protect for him, and had Pouncey snapping him the ball (snaps were an issue in the second half down to our final center), you could say that he would’ve done much better too. Works both ways.
