Grade the overall draft

You are projecting again. You began trolling simply because others held different opinions on the draft than yours. While you fully agree with every move the Steelers make, not everyone shares that mindset. You still haven’t answered my initial question. How does asking for opinions on the draft equate to whining? Instead of deflecting or resorting to insults, try actually engaging with the conversation rather than lashing out at dissenting views. We both know which route you will take, as always. It's hard to believe you are an adult.

 

You win. Although as the 3rd QB taken it was at pick #11.

Fun fact:

Ben Roethlisberger and his team "really thought" the New York Giants were going to draft him with the 4th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. Based on conversations with his team and feedback from the Giants, he believed New York was a very realistic option until the San Diego Chargers deal with the Giants for Eli Manning went through right before the pick was made.

I can't remember the last time I didn't hear that the Browns won the draft.

 

I wonder how often the Browns have the best offseason in the AFCN followed by the worst regular season?

 

Let's be honest. If the Steelers had the Browns draft (Fano, Concepcion, Boston) yinz would be all over it as an 'A'.

Browns problem, as it has always been, is the execution.

 

That's the whole point. We always hear about how great the Browns draft was.....and they continue to stink and pick high in the draft. If the Steelers were a terrible team like the Browns, they would be the one's drafting high and getting the highest rated players....but they don't. They keep winning and doing the best they can much later in the draft every season.

The Steelers organization is just better than the Browns organization in every way, so they get more out of their players.

I really like Concepcion. He has some drops, but he gets separation and is explosive. He just gets open by beating coverage consistently.

 

No Browns problem has always been no cohesion, no ability to stick with something, and let it grow, and work. How many times have we seen a player, or coach do well one year, and the next year they have a down year, and the Browns get rid of them. They are in a constant microwaveable mindset. It's like the guys that have been running the show, behind the curtain ,since they came back in the league, are really 10 year old children without an attention span.

 

Yup. They are a great example of the damage an owner can do to a franchise. Haslem is the one who drove their pursuit of Watson, which was a disaster that set them back years. If they had any patience at all, they would have stuck with Mayfield and been much better off.

 

Exactly. That is a perfect example.

 

That all took a stunning level of impatience and stupidity. They knew Mayfield was playing through an injured shoulder in 2021. It was obvious to anybody watching him that it severely impacted his play. Sending him out there anyway was stupid enough, but to cut him loose afterward so they could overpay Watson was just insane.

 

Given how Myles Garrett's contract got restructured, chances are he will be a potential trade option should the Browns falter yet again. I have every reason to believe they will given their history. That... and the QB situation isn't good either.

Not a Spencer Fano nor Caleb Lomu fan. Was in 2024 but both fell off a cliff for me at Utah in 2025. Neither have the pre requisite core strength nor anchor. Fano is much worse because his rail thin build, poor hand placement and poor footwork when getting into his pass protection sets make him a liability as a blindside protector.


He has the athleticism but not the fundamentals, technique nor discipline. Cleveland is making a mistake. He is not the second coming of Joe Thomas like so many make him out to be.
