Got out schemed/coached

Whatever scheme the Steelers staff came up with didn’t work , no spies on Lamar the option plays really tricked the Steelers out , it was so obvious how many times they followed the running back instead of Lamar , and if that was by design guess what it didn’t work cuz it didn’t shut down Henry he had a hell of game , so bottom line….our coaches are DUMB AF !!!!

 

yep…simple way to summarize

 

Ravens go for it on 4th and inches and we have 12 men on the field all confused , coach isn’t smart enough to call the defense formation fast enough or simply use an appropriate time out …

 

Would help if your superstar defensive player would record a tackle or an assist. Watt was about as useful as I was.

A part of me says he did that on purpose. The commentators said it was a scheme that the coaches were running to contain Henry. It was Watt’s way to say how asinine that scheme was. He tackled the guy with the fake handoff purposefully and completely ignoring Jackson. Never once have I seen that from Watt

 

It was the scheme the Steelers had to stop the run and shut down Henry at all costs. I believe the coaches told Watt and Highsmith to not think, and just go for the RB. However, they didn't expect Lamar Jackson to just pull it and run at will and they didn't make the necessary adjustments to have a linebacker spy Jackson to prevent him running around the edge. The key take away is this is not on Watt, he isnt dumb, he was doing his job. Was someone else not doing their job?? It was coaching and putting the players in the right positions to succeed and stop this.

The D line/ILBs were worse than our O line vs Ravens.... and that is BAD. Henry broke playoff records with his yardage last night. Pitiful.

Need DT/DE in the draft/FA... and hopefully that will help Queen, Roberts and Wilson in the middle. Heyward and Benton were b!tch slapped all night long by Ricard and Ravens OL.

Exactly, the ends were supposed to crash down the line. The read for Jackson is then to keep the ball and go where they were. An inside LB be scraping down the line or a safety coming up should fill that gap from what I understand, but either Jackson got to open space faster than they plugged the gap.

 

ST's as well. we ranked 32nd in kick returns this year. the returner muffed the punt last night with not one steeler around to make a play for it. we ran into the punter on another play. it hasn't been all roses with bubble gum boy either.

I understand that was done by design , but it clearly didn’t work and they didn’t adjust for it , it gave Lamar the ability to do whatever he wanted no pressure , and on top of that this scheme was chasing the Running back didn’t work anyways look how good Henry did , so bottom like the scheme failed set in place by the Steelers defense and on top of that they was too stupid to adjust when they could clearly see it wasn’t working anyways

 

It's like that TV show "From" where people drive round and round and round and always end up back outside the diner because they're in some sort of other dimension.

 

Someone should have told Watt to hit Jackson every play, not take the RB fake.
