Hi guys and girls, I've got a question I want to ask you all and I appreciate that it may be impossible to answer with any degree of certainty but your best guess will do.

I have been a Steelers fan for quite a while now, I live in England so it's difficult to understand how certain aspects of how the league works as American football is not big news over here (maybe one day it will be).

So my question is this, I'm going to be coming to America on holiday this year between the 18th September and 11th October and I plan to come to Pittsburgh as I really want to see a live game at Heinz Field and I was wondering what the chances are that the Steelers could end up playing away from home during that time?
So I'll be in the States for 3 full weekends and while I know we don't know the exact dates of next season's games I wanted to ask if anyone knows if it's possible that we could end up playing away from home for 3 or more weeks in a row? Does that happen very often or at all?

Also if anyone could recommend some decent bars to get drunk with all you guys I'd appreciate it :)

    Thanks.

There should be a home game during that time, the actual home dates probably won't be announced for a while.

It is possible to have 3 road games in a row while you're in town, but very unlikely. I wouldn't worry about it, you'll get to see them

Alright thanks for the response guys. Now I just need to figure out some other stuff to do in Pittsburgh while I'm there. I've heard a lot about these tailgating parties so I'll have to check one of those out I think. Also does anyone know when the Baseball and Hockey season's are? Will I be in town for any of that stuff?

I should probably add that I won't be in Pittsburgh for the entire 3 weeks, it'll probably be around 4-5 days as I'll be going to Washington DC, New York and Probably Philadelphia as well.

Chris welcome to the site, I have found this I hope it helps you keep with your planning:

The NFL schedule for 2016-2017 should be released on the 3rd Thursday of April if the NFL stays true to form. We have it slotted for April 21st 2016 at 8 PM EST with the schedule release show on NFL Network. Typically, ESPN.com, CBSSports.com & USAToday.com have the first internet publication of the schedule. The first dowloadable printable PDF schedules are typically published by ESPN. The release date varies based on scheduling, matchups & the start of the NFL free agency period. We expect the schedule to be live on either the 19th, 20th or 21st.

With factors such as Olympics, more overseas travel, presidential debates and perhaps multiple teams in Los Angeles, league bracing for one complicated offseason

if I'm not mistaken maybe some of the experts here MACDADDYO can tag his thread "2016 opponents" here
the home and away opponents are known and you could be lucky to see the Steelers play in Washington dc or Philly too.
I believe we get Giants home
    hell maybe Jets? in NY?
    CRS....

Very unlikely that there would be 3 straight away games, but you never know when that bye week will hit, because you could have two straight away games and a bye week which would mean the team wouldn't be playing at Heinz for a 3 week period.

Doubtful but possible, we actually had a stretch of 3 straight home games this year. Which I wish would could have had one during the last two weeks of the season.

We also play up in Buffalo next season too, which isn't that far away.

I think I read that every game we have next year is in the Eastern time zone too.

Lancaster. Nearer to London than Pittsburgh, admittedly.

Nah, there are a few of us.

Haven't see @bedwyr@bedwyr here for a while, but he's from Salford, I think.

There definitely should be a game while you are here and luckily unlike your football matches it's not borderline impossible to get tickets.

In the last 6 seasons they had 1 year with 3 games in a row away and 1 year with 2 away games and a bye. Allowing for 16 games total, your odds are good to have a home game.

Ok, I know we speak different languages, but what is a fixture in this capacity, and what does it have to do with your question? Or are you just checking to see if we have indoor plumbing over here?

Lol sorry I'll try and educate you a little. The fixtures in English football is the line-up of all games in either a single week or for an entire season (I'm pretty sure that's right, I don't watch English football).

I like the way you think dude. The goalpost needs a goalkeeper, just strap him up on the crossbar and give him a big mitt, that should add some excitment to the game don't ya think? :)

Are we having an English language battle here? If so then it's pronounced 'Herb', cause it's got a ****ing 'H' in it.

Oh and thanks for the warm welcome. Can't wait till September.
