The funny thing is that when he was in Indy Luck was the most sacked qb. I think he also led the league in INT's. Peyton did the same under BA. I've not seen the sack numbers this year in AZ. I just always felt like BA's system was a real danger to Ben because of all the Mike Martz vertical stuff. His system and our crappy line was just a recipe for disaster and I've always thought the Rooney's must have felt the same. I would kill to know Tomlin's true opinion of his "retiring".

Colts hadnt done anything yet and Pags was battling for his life, wasn't doing any coaching behind the scenes and Arizona sucked. Guys a good coach.

Cancer patients can still live relatively normal lives many times. According to Bruce Arians himself, he would regularly talk to Pagano about team matters.

And Indy hadn't done anything because they they had just drafted Andrew luc .

BA has fallen into two very good situations. Let's see if he can keep it up. I have my doubts.

Ben is Favre like in that regard. Capable of amazing plays and really bone-headed ones. For some reason, Aaron Rodgers is getting like that as well.

I think you're right. Quarterbacks who do well in the red zone are typically very methodical and rhythmic in their approach. Ben is more frenetic. He runs around like a mad man, pump fakes 23 times before each throw and that isn't conducive to red zone success. You've got the make the decision and BAM! Throw the ball! He's made some great plays scrambling around when his receivers have a lot of green to work with, but in the jumbled mess of the red zone, not so much.

I've know several people with cancer, some beat it, some unfortunately didn't but all of them went through hell with chemo and radiation. Talking on the phone and coaching are two entirely different things. Coaches spend 80 hours a week dedicated to their craft.

All successful coaches have talent, I don't know where this notion comes from that a good coach can win with scrubs. We'll see if he keeps it up, I'm sure he will.

My wife was diagnosed with Breast cancer about 6 weeks ago. She is going through Chemo right now.
It's no picnic let me tell you. She is mostly in bed starting a few days after treatment, then it slowly is getting better only to have to do it all over in a couple weeks. She is able to work from home after the peak of the Chemo side effects have passed. Tough situation to say the least.

The article seems to hint that the Steelers don't have the horses to run the schemes designed by the coaches. These coaches aren't stupid, I think. You would think they would tailor the scheme to the players they have. Or maybe they are waiting for players to mature into the scheme they have devised, but I think that takes too long.

I really hate to hear about that cancer diagnosis. Prayers for sure. They've made a lot of advancements in the cancer field and there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic. I met with a man just a few weeks ago with colon cancer and it was his 2nd battle with it. He is in his 70s but I heard just this morning they were able to get it. There is plenty of hope for people with cancer. I hope if I ever get it I can be as brave as some of the people that I've seen fight it. Hang in there.

My mamaw, thankfully, has been cancer free for 25yrs now. Just last week at Disneyworld I saw an older lady with a little button that said "I'm Celebrating A Cancer Free Husband" and I just walked up to her and said "That's really great!" She had the most peaceful look on her face and said "thank you". I guess when people get that diagnosis it is sorta like the moon landing or something. Just one of those moments that for the rest of your life you remember where you were when you heard. I bet the same is true for when you get the news you are cancer free as well.

I never claimed Pagano was the coach, just the he would talk to BA regularly about team matters. That's from BA's own mouth during an interview on SiriusXM. My bigger point is that BA came into a situation and only had to maintain what was already there. He changed nothing and instead maintained the plan that was already in effect. He had Andrew Luck as his QB. That's a perfect scenario for an OC who has to take over.

Thats a rather over simplistic view of coaching. And what about Arizona? They sucked and still have no QB.
