I saw a quote from Haley this week that said we have left 37 points on the field. That's pretty irritating.

What has me scratching my head is how well we move the ball between the 20s than get in the red zone and fall flat. I have to put that on play calling not player production.

It's been that way for 2 OC's now. I'm no longer convinced it's just playcalling and think a lot of it has to do with Ben simply not being effective with the compressed field

I think it's execution for sure. Next up would be personnel package. It's not all about height down there, though we do have it in some areas and don't utilize it. Misdirection would be the best remedy, but then again... We don't have the tackles to allow the pocket to move. PA out of I formation with 3 tight ends could work no?

I agree, other folks are with their DE's to boot! And. Have been for some time! This team needs to think outside the box. Funny, you can do that and keep it simple at the same time... Waiting to see it.

I found that article a very good read, btw. The quote that stuck out to me was this:

I'd like to see some stats on this. I love Big Ben, but I think it's also fair to question some of this stuff. There's defiantly a problem, although I'm sure there's a number of contributing factors.

    Ben is the common denominator.
he also has more pic 6 than any other qb in the league who was drafted in his year

started the super bowl with one
missed the super bowl in year one because he threw one
    just saying

He does have his bonehead moments, but his line has been consistently worse in the drafted QB era of any other QB drafted since him and a few notables before him.

Is it Ben not being good in the redzone or is it the personnel around him? Reading the article, they talk about our line and TE's not being able to seal the edge, which hurts you more in the redzone. I really am not sure. I thought it was because we couldn't run the ball, but this year, we are running the ball well. Are the WR's getting open or not? I will have to watch that more closely.

Personnel and execution. Add in a little holds on the Bally too longy. Ben is the least of our worries in the red zone but does have some hiccups. Any QB across the league during Ben's tenure if roles were reversed would be complete garbage. Manning, Brady, Rogers, Rivers, etc... All of them would fold and each one of them would be in the most sacked race.

Gleen the stats I found rank red zone QBs.....

In 2013 #7s red zone QB rating was 8th best...
In 2012 #7 red zone QB rating was 10th best....
This year he is 24th best......

We run the ball well until we get into the Red Zone and then we sputter..

Couldn't disagree more. Brady has a horrid Oline this year, but after some short term pain, they've figured it out. I also believe Manning would make our line look 100 times better than it is. Those QB's improve the play of their Oline. Ben often makes our guys worse because he just doesn't throw the ball. He pump fakes like crazy. When Manning and Brady are pressured, they throw the ball

Well since we are ahead of AZ I was right in my disdain for BA. I knew we did the right thing getting rid of him. LOL.

The real kick in the nuts is he's a good HC, he could have taken over for Tomlin when you guys eventually drive him out! :lolol:

LOL. You greatly exaggerate our power. I'm not on the fire Tomlin bandwagon though. I think only like 3 people actually want him fired right? My opinion of him is just more "meh". I was DEFINITELY the ringleader of the Fire BA bandwagon though. I also still love Haley. I just wish we were better in the red zone. Haley does things that get on my nerves but not NEARLY as badly as BA did. Did you see that story the other day where BA said that when Tomlin called to fire him that he picked up the phone thinking he was getting a raise? There was an article about it and basically the article was saying that Haley and BA are alike in a lot of ways but that Haley is a better gameplanner than BA. I thought about posting it but just don't know if I'm up for another BA showdown. LOL!!!

Read it too. What he didn't say was: how many drives have been stalled due to poor playcalling.

I think he's been very, very lucky so far. He had the fortune of ending up the head coach of a team in Indy that was already heading up quickly. All he had to do was take over and not change anything. Plus Pagano was still involved behind the scenes and him and BA talked frequently about team matters.

Then he went to a team with a very good defence and an offence that has Floyd, Fitzgerald and a talented RB in Ellington. That's not to say he doesn't have a hand in the teams success, I just want to see more from him first. It's not hard to go into a good situation and not screw it up, but it's hard to maintain it long term and/or fix issues that arise.

    We'll see
