Watt is the closest player to Jack Ham that i have seen in a Steeler uniform. That's saying a lot.

Is Watt our next phenom player like Troy?

I think so. Getting better each year.

I was thinking about that the other night. We are so lucky to watch T.J. Watt play. It's no different than watching Troy, James Harrison, and those guys in their prime, Watt is literally GREAT. He'll likely go down as one of the best Steelers of all time. Amazing.

FWIW, I'm almost equally as excited about Minkah. He's going to go down as a truly great Steeler, at least in my book. The biggest difference between him and Watt is that Mink makes a boneheaded play or two here and there - Watt is truly consistent and great.

Book T.J. Watt as a keeper for the foreseeable future. Looks to be the next great Steelers Linebacker. There really is not anything he cannot do from a Defensive Schematic standpoint as he is the complete package.

Will not shock me if he becomes the first Steeler to register 100 sacks when it is all said and done. If not that, I see another to maybe two DPOY Awards in his future provided he wins this one. He will have some fierce competition though in the years ahead; Aaron Donald, Chase Young, Devin White (yes I am serious), DeForest Buckner, Myles Garrett, Joey Bosa, Jalen Ramsey (if Stephon Gilmore won the award then there is no reason to assume Ramsey cannot), and his own teammate in Minkah Fitzpatrick the same to name a few. That said and, as stated before, few other Defensive players have the versatility and skillset that T.J. Watt has

I’m glad they weren’t put off by the lack of experience like a lot of people were. He’s just a player that jumps off the page at me and yes, pedigree matters a lot. To have that experience to draw from, what it takes to succeed in the NFL, TJ was always a no brainer for me.

I was not worried about the team skipping on T.J. Watt. My concern about him heading into that draft season was not his ability to generate pressure consistently. My biggest issue was his ability to even be on the board by that point!

Regardless of any draft, EDGE is a ridiculously popular position that teams draft in droves; some like Pittsburgh even drafting two EDGE Players within one draft. For me, I thought Obi Melifonwu would be the better pick given the fact how Tomlin loves versatility in addition to my aforementioned belief that T.J. would not be available by that point; doubly so since Green Bay REALLY NEEDED pass rush during that time.

Glad everything worked out in the end!! :steelflag:
