The Steelers need to use Muth and Heyward like the Patriots used Gronk and Hernandez before Hernandez decided to kill people.

Then unleash Johnson and Pickens on the edges and get this offense to another level before the Steelers have to drop 30 mil per on Pickett.

I like that kid, but I fear we’d have to spend one of the first 4 picks to get him and we have bigger fish to fry than TE if Muth is healthy for next year.

How deep would you expect an NFL tight end room to be? They have a quality starter, a solid backup, and a third guy who can play some at tight end as well as other positions. How many teams carry more than three guys?

I've seen mock drafts that have Mayer gone before their first-rounder, so he'd really cost the first of those four picks. The needs at other positions are far too great to go that route.

By that I meant post season and the possibility of muth having an injury that was possibly a year in rehab. With Gent a FA that leaves Conner...thus no depth lol

It would definitely cost us our first pick, if he even fell that far.

As much as I would love to have him, I agree they have much bigger needs. Mayer would be a luxury pick.

What's overstretched is the amount of time Steelers take to give physicals.
Larry O is still in line..
