And if LJ has a very good game today you all will still say it was against a terrible team and he didnt prove anything, so either way he loses to the haters here....

OK so if you have been following my posts you know my opinion is not based on hate it is based on money. I do not want to spend the money on a back up I do not feel confident in if we lose Ben for a number of games. Sorry but this is more about spending the money on the players that play every week and we have a lot of them then the back up where we do have an option a ton cheaper in ZM. Which I feel.....MY OPINION......is there isn't much difference in skill. Of course we haven't seen ZM play for this team but we have seen the good and bad in LJ and I am not ready to see the Steelers open the wallet for that..........

Well it would make a difference to me ...I expect him to play well against a terrible Team ,so he might not can raise his stock with me unless he plays great...But poor play would strengthen my view of time to move on...

As far as I'm concerned, it has nothing to do with his "haters," but the level of competition he is playing against.

Since LJ is playing with backups the competition is pretty even....

Browns shouldn't even be a NFL team. I bet Alabama could beat them, kinda serious lol.

    No more injuries

Played a nice game overall. I don't get all the hate with Landry. He was a joke his first few seasons, but has come a really long way. He doesn't look like he will ever become a solid starting QB in the NFL, but right now he's a quality back up. He has gotten better every season. I'm beginning to think that we won't be happy on here until our back up is top 20 starter quality lol

He not get a big deal anywhere else in the league. I don't see why a couple mil a year for a few years would be an awful thing for the team.

Ben has a history of injuries and without him, this team cannot beat a quality opponent. Landry looked like a fart in a whirlwind for most of the game today. Had it not been for DHB bailing him out and the brownies ineptitude. I mean seriously, Crowells fumble when they only needed a chipshot FG to win? That is just poor play calling and crappy execution. Landry didn't win the game today, the stains just lost it. And even if you put lipstick on the pig and say that LJ won the game, it was against the worst team in the NFL and took OT. Landry is not a good backup QB and just like the raiders, we are done without BR.

just who is the backup you all would feel comfortable with going into the playoffs if br went down? league wide teams would have the same concern. except maybe new england. if the concern is money then a more seasoned former starter would cost more. thats if you can find one that you could feel comfortable with that we could win with. the line and play calling was not real friendly to LJ today. he also didn't allow 154 yards rushing against him either. most of the game he was backed up to his own EZ it seemed. 3rd and long a lot. the 21 points we gave up wasn't his fault to the worst team in the league. he did however help us score 27 points even if it took extra time. i'll take that.

Landry Jones was not the problem vs. the Browns. Steelers lost the battle in the trenches. It's hard for any QB (starter or backup) to execute plays when O-line does not block properly on run and pass plays.

I will give props to Jones for the final drive. He played an average game. Against the clowns. I would not be surprised if they retain him but he isn't going to any team to be a starter. I am more concerned about the Defense or lack their of...

My reason why the last day or so I have been talkin about how much LJ is gonna get is this:

Money needed to sign fa's : Timmons, AV, Dwill, JH and BELL
Money needed to give guys wanting/needing bigger contracts: AB and Tuitt

If we get these guys signed or replace with fa's and still have the money and LJ will sign for less then 2 mil a year I am fine with it. But if we don't have the money to get the guys above signed and locked up or replacements for these guys I would rather spend 690k for ZM.

Just something for all the people who want to pay LJ more then 2 mil........JH just played this season for 1.5 mil!!!!!! JH is more valuable to us then LJ and I would rather offer JH 2 mil to come back next year and ZM on the bench for 690K then bringing LJ back for 2+ mil to sit the bench with no JH.

To me this is all about the money we have available for the starter guys. This has nothing to do with LJ or the kind of player he is. He has been up and down but if he wasn't he wouldn't be a back up now would he?

Just as I expected, Landry throws 3 TDs and wins the game and you all still blast the kid, he just guaranteed himself a new contract and you all still hate on him, good thing you haters dont run this team, you couldnt evaluate a fart in a wind storm, you seem to forget the defense and Oline came out flat after the emotional game they had against the rats, and they gave up over 200 yards rushing and 4 sacks, and the QB and his 3 no name receivers had to put the game on their backs to win it, I hope LJ gets a 3 mill a year contract this off season for at least 3-5 years, he has earned it.......
