See, now the whole box of worms thing is sticking with me. I know the saying but I do a fair amount of fishing and I've never gotten worms in a can. In fact, I use a styrofoam container, basically a box, to hold my worms. Even the store bought ones are in a cup, not a can. Moving forward. I shall be using the phrase box of worms in your honor.

 

Can of worms comes from old school with a Folgers can , and digging Your own. Also back in the day they did sell worms in cans. Once they found a way out...it was hard to keep them in.

 

That is good to know. I don't dig my own because I don't like to get my hands dirty. I make my wife put the worm on the hook.

I'm a Rappala man (freshwater) but in my younger days, I always had a Hills Brothers coffee can full of nightcrawlers that I spent the night before gathering, headed to the river.
I also threaten the wife that I am selling everything, buying a bait shop on some lake and selling worms and beer and cigars and spend my days with old fisherman rocking in chairs on the porch and solving all the world's ills.

Oh and, waxing poetic about how to make the Steelers a team that wins every Super Bowl for the next dozen year or so.

 

That sounds like a plan you should probably follow through with. There are definitely worse ways for a guy to spend his retirement.

That's exactly how it would work if I had daughters. But noooo, I have two boys and only one likes to fish but doesn't go with me anymore because he's 16 and fishing for something else.

My daughter likes to fish (but hates getting up early) however it does zero for me so I will take her and sit on my chair and read. She and my son are scouts and love camping and I would rather chop my legs off than go camping. Man took 50,000 years to get out of the outdoors and live with hot showers and a comfy bed so I have zero desire to put myself back in that environment. I support them doing it but told them that is my red line, zero chance of me sleeping outside in a tent, f that!!
