On the Timmons theme, did Colbert say Vick WOULD NOT be back yet?

I would clean house behind Ben....grad,Jones,Vick all should be cut. We are screwed anyway if Ben goes down. Go after another vet or mid rd draft

i thought jones made a huge leap last year from the previous year. this was his first NFL experience. he's at least got something to build on. as far as ben going down, most teams are in that position when a franchise qb goes down. i'd rather we had a guy that is at least familiar with the receivers when that happens over a guy just walking in here as a newbie having to learn our playbook and players. continuity helps.

I like Jones… as a 3rd string QB. I saw 1/2 game of good football against Arizona, and then regression. Sometimes pretty ugly regression reminiscent of his preseason garbage performances. I would like to see a real backup QB who has more than 1/2 game of solid NFL football on his resume (obviously not Vick).

I agree Mac. He showed what he is capable of in the Arizona game but faltered against a pretty stout KC defense, so what. Have to give these kids a chance to learn and grow.

If they even entertain the thought of bringing Vick back then both Tomlin and Colbert need to have the heads examined. He should have been sent packing a long time ago.

They aren't going to get rid of Jones, he's cheap and he's in the last year of his contract.

I mistakenly forgave LOLandry after the Zona game Mac. I was wrong and glad Ben thought so too. When he came in the bungle game I started singing the ole Hee Haw song
"Oh despair agony defeat, if it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all"
It should be Ben with two new guys behind him on opening day

    Yep.

Plus, what mac said. It makes no sense to get rid of Jones at this point.

I've said many times before I'm not so convinced that Gradkowski is the back up people want him to be. He's no Batch, that's for sure. If there's someone else out there, I'd give them a look. But my suspicion is that LJ takes the no.2 slot this camp.

Still not sure he has the physical tools to be a no. 2 backup. Maybe okay for a no. 3. He also has had more chances to learn and grow then most backups. Would like to see an upgrade there because of the way Ben plays he usually dosen't make it thru a whole season.

Exactly. We need a real #2, and like it or not a future #1 . The window on Ben's career is closing so it is time to start looking for his replacement . We can't afford to draft a QB high because we have a lot of holes to fill . No reason we can't take a stab at a QB past the 4th. as we usually miss on those picks anyway ..Maybe get a guy like Cardale Jones to work behind the #2 and to learn from Ben and learn his craft running the practice Team for 3 or 4 seasons..

He may be a bust , but if he can't throw at his pro day then he probably go in round #5 or #6 ...I would much rather the Team spend the time on a guy like him than the other Jones . Time to up grade our Jones's....
