Saw this a few hours ago, and not hearing anything as to why, or if something happened? Could be a precautionary thing, or something happened, which I hope for the first scenario.

I'm not that worried about it. I had an MRI done a few months after my SLAP repair to make sure the labrum fully attached to the bone.

what are the symptoms of a SLAP tear? lol I have had nagging clicking/popping along with pain when externally rotated and arm overhead. Seen a PT who said its impingement, and its improved but nagging.

I had impingement and the same other symptoms. Really hard to throw a ball. Went to a Ortho doc who does the Pirates and Cubs. He made 3 small incisions and basically used a grinder and a shop vac to clean things up. A little sore for a while but had full motion immediately.

funny how advanced medicine can be and yet when it came down to it the basics worked.

They share the same symptoms. They thought is was impingement with me too at first until I was barely getting any results from PT. I asked for an MRI (that's the only way to know for sure) and sure enough I had a grade 2 Tear. Impingement usually forms over time while a Slap tear is due to trauma. In my case, I just tore it up over time and ignored the symptoms until I decided to do something about it.

Asked about Golson's MRI in his weekly chat, the P-G's Ed Bouchette said the MRI wasn't for Golson's shoulder. " believe it's somewhere in his leg. He said he will miss only a few days. He had the MRI last week after missing practice Thursday."

If true, good news! we need to see what's up with the kid and see if he can give us some action in that secondary!
