Go Beavs!

Interesting season for us! It's us and the Washington St Cougs, in the PAC 12. The Beavs have a mostly new coaching staff (new HC, Coordinators, some new position guys). And then you take into consideration us losing a lot of guys to NIL deals and the NFL, yet we still have some really good talent. The offense is changing from a traditional pro style to an RPO Spread type. The HC is Trent Bray. He played LB here back in the glory days (early 2000s) and his dad was a great DC for Dennis Erickson, including for our #4 team in the country in 2000. Trent was also the DC for the last couple of seasons and did extremely well! Our new OC, Ryan Gunderson was a former QB here at Oregon St and has been on Chip Kelly's staff as the QB coach for the last few years. Our DC is Keith Heyward Johnson (former Beaver player) but came here directly from the NFL. The staff should be solid!

Personnel wise, we bring back one QB. But unfortunately, he doesn't really do anything special. The other 2 guys (one transfer from Missouri and the Jerry Rice Award winner from FCS, the Idaho transfer). RB is absolutely stacked! The main 2 are Jam Griffin and Anthony Hankerson. There is also a true frosh S Allah from Texas (H.S. kid). OL is strong but not as strong as last season! Receiver room is much bigger, in terms of size. They may have lost a little bit of quicks with those smaller guys but hopefully still effective. The defense should be the strong suit! DL is stacked with a lot big bodies. Should be great against grinding teams but we need to see about pass rush. Have some very skilled LBs, especially the 2 inside backers who are both young but very good! Secondary is the strength. Solid 2 deep for all 5 positions; 2 safeties, 2 corners and Nickel. SP teams should hopefully be at least serviceable?! Scary yet exciting to see what we truly have.
