have any of the engineering building types here ever built a wall out of bottles?

I plan on using all the beer n wine bottles for this
figure I should have a mansion by summers end:cool:

just wondering if some have experience with this

not a fan of putting up walls but

looked at a some online and some of them are freaking awesome n beautiful

I do know I must lean towards MORE SKY AND BOMBAY to get an abundance of blue

    thanks for any input

    Like this?

I thought about it a few years back, but the project never materialized. I was experimenting with using cordwood and cob for sheds on the property, and saw a glass wall project in one of the books I was reading. Endless design options.

I have a friend who had one wall of his house made of bottles. I only saw pictures of it but, it looked................different. Didn't really match the rest of the house. Even though he lived in the high desert, his neighbors complained about the way it looked. No HOA so there was nothing the neighbors could do. That might be a consideration if you have easily offended neighbors, or an HOA.

Come to think of it, his neighbors might have been upset about his statue collection. He used to beg, buy, or steal statues from restaurants. (like the Big Boy) and put them up in random spots in his yard. The neighbors had had enough when he put his new "Paul Bunyan" statue directly behind a statue he had gotten from a fried chicken restaurant so it looked like Paul was........................
    Nice guy but, definitely eccentric.
BTW, I like the look of a bottle wall.

    Santee
    You're there in SanDiego area
and there's a lot of sunny days to make one look good
    yes, I'm jealous:smiley1:

I would be cool with a neighbor having those statues

I once got a tree trunk part of cedar from Ocracoke Island
It looked like Venus de Milo without the head.
It was a really cool piece of wood that I just happened to be there when the two guys were cutting the tree down
That lasted one month in my yard.

Arrrrghh, guess someone else saw something in it too

    Hmm, how about this one?

Cob is a mixture of clay, sand, straw and other organic matter.
