we may have to pick up an extra tackle to be on the safe side. dawkins is already out. that would leave hubbard as the only other tackle besides feiler.

 

Makes sense that they were playing Harris at RT last game then.

Would be nice if he was a solid swing, because I think Villy can lock the other side down this year and beyond.

Hubbert should be on the bubble. Definitely need to get someone in. Harris will be fine but this is not good news.

 

I didn't get to see the game - was it sunny and his shadow rolled him from behind?

 

i think harris can hold down that side alright if need be but after that we are not in great shape. i do like hubbard but not in a long term situation if one would arise. i know gilbert wants to try to go but we have ben to think about. gilbert had one good season finally and now has a bad wing, it's not worth gambling with bens health just to see if he can play at a lower level. we have seen that before. ben has to be upright for this offense to move.

 

I don't think Gilbert's performance will be affected much by the hyperextended elbow. He's going to wear a brace and will be shot up for pain.

 

I think Al V is going to be the starting left tackle. With Harris playing the two swing spots if need be.

 

that depends. they have been working on his punch to keep guys out of his chest, that was his biggest downfall of being walked back into ben and the pocket. without it we will see much of the early years of gilbert. teams will try to exploit this. we will almost for sure see extra help on his side so it could limit us somewhat. to be honest i'd have to take advantage of harris while we have him and let gilbert get that surgery. not sure of the timeline for it but couldn't we get him back by later in the season if done now? we have some time before the games start counting and a bye week to use also.
