George Pickens played limited snaps due to discipline?

    Yes

Call anything you want but if the OL doesn’t block and the receivers don’t get open and the quarterback doesn’t hit them……

How bout get him the ball? Feed the ego, feed our best offensive weapon, and help the offense same time. They’ll be time for discipline, post battle, but don’t hamper your attack at the moment it’s happening. Feed him like a baby and let’s see if the crying stops. Draw the plays up, Feed Him, let him go nuts out there. Watch it open up for others run and pass at same time.

You said the words “Just like last season” we made many changes but there is one common denominator. I think you know who I’m referring too. I think Tomlin is just way too conservative. Not having that number 2 wr and the oline and lack of run game are really hurting us.

I truly feel like this offense can similar to Philly’s from a couple of years ago. I believe Fields can be similar to their QB as well.

He's our only real weapon... All the rest of our WR's are garbage. Our only healthy RB is trash. Our TE is solid, but not a Gronk-style game breaker and we never use Washington as a receiver for whatever reason... so yeah. Pickens is the only guy who can break a game open. How can we be serious about winning games when we're limiting his snaps? Just abysmal.

    They are doing something different

Last year the starting 5 OL played all but a few plays together

This year they have Moe Larry and Curly playing 3 OL spots

They have had 5 different starting lineups in 5 games

I totally agree. This offense isn't set up to score points. The other team has only one WR to stop and a solid TE to make sure they don't let get going.... Aside from that?? Unfortunately this offense is going to need a healthy Warren and Patterson to shoot some life into it. We need another person that they opposition needs to worry about breaking a big play. I truly hope we stick with Fields. I think he has what it takes, we just need to SPEND THE MONEY TO SURROUND HIM WITH THE PROPER TALENT. This team REALLY needed to get that Aiyuk deal done.... Drop 20-25 mil on Higgins in the offseason and go draft Judkins in the first round. If the OL stays healthy from there, we might actually have something.

Exactly, all I’m saying is there’s more than one way to discipline.
Coach George is complaining, misbehaving, acting up whatever… id get with the OC, I want you to design plays to him and run his wheels off this entire quarter, talk to me then we may go entire half.
Feed that ego and who knows we all maybe surprised of the turnaround in every way. George we’re going to you, George it’s on you for this , George…you get the point. And all of the sudden Calvin and Mueth are open, and Najee has holes.
Your first move as a general can’t be to retreat!

Just because I asked the question does not mean I disagree with the concept. There was an actual conversation going on between myself and steel resolve and the question was posed to him because of the way he answered a previous question I had asked.

Sitting a player is about the only discipline left to NFL coaches. If Tomlin, Smith, or another offensive coach thinks they need to discipline GP for acting like a spoiled man-brat, I will completely back their decision.

Regarding Wilson for what it’s worth the question was asked of Tomlin:

Roman Wilson has been a full participant in practice for the last couple of weeks. Just in general, what are some of the challenges a rookie wide receiver has in adjusting from the college game to the game that's played at the professional level?
    A. There's a lot, but I don't want to overstate it, because you see young wideouts transition into the NFL and perform at a high level every year. And specifically as it pertains to Roman, he got hurt on the sixth play of the first practice (in pads) of training camp. And so there are some developmental things, there are some physical plays and conditioning and learning and things that go into his process that are not reflective of the overall process. Roman doesn't have a whole lot of in-helmet experience to draw from. He's healthy, but he still has a lot of work ahead of him in terms of being game ready.

So I see you only support QB’s while they are winning. This is NOT the same team as last year. Johnson was a #1 last year with Pickens a #2. Quit comparing Apples to Oranges. As I said in another post. Mason had totally different circumstances last season.

it’s quite funny you’re all about JF until we lose 2 games that wasn’t even losses because of QB play.

Pickett was still listed as QB1 for the Bills game, even though Rudolph was starting. An insult to Mason who actually made the team look good. But it's all history now and I can't even remember why I'm writing about this. I just know I prefer Mason to the 3 we have.

Dreadfully sorry. I was on a particularly bumpy stagecoach ride back to the castle and came over all rapscallion.

    Normal order resumed

That's why Tomlin will never win another playoff game.

    This.

For that matter, the past two seasons of the Offensive Line having such stability is very rare; extreme even in some cases. Very seldom do the same five starting Offensive Lineman play the entire season unscathed in the NFL. Even the best Offensive Lines such as Detriot, Kansas City or even Indianapolis have suffered some injuries themselves within the past two seasons.

Contiuity is critical yes but not guaranteed.

Please stop equating Pickens with Antonio Brown. Antonio Brown was the best receiver in the league before he went off the rails. Pickens isn't even in that conversation.

Rewarding poor behavior does not work as a form of discipline. It tells the person that they can get their way by acting out.
