No surprise here. Case closed. The whole "Sticks and Stones" aspect was a reach.







Only way Myles can win this is take this to a U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Keep in mind though the NFL ends up winning.

 

That is one of the ugly parts of this. If we assume Garrett is lying, which certainly seems to be the case based on what we know, then he did it for nothing. Even the use of a racial slur wouldn't have excused what he did. All he really accomplished was to tarnish Rudolph's reputation. It was petty and desperate act by an overgrown child who can't seem to take responsibility for his actions.

It seems likely to me that the NFL would have gone over the available audio of the game, or at least that play, regardless of what Garrett said. If evidence existed to support Garrett's claim, they would know about it. This is what makes me think that despite his protests, Garrett or his agents are the source of the leak. When they realized the NFL wasn't going for it, they decided to take it to the court of public opinion. I have no evidence to support this theory other than who the accusation benefits. It will make Garrett look better in the eyes of some. It will make the NFL look bad to those who want to believe it. The NFL gains nothing by allowing the accusation to leak.
