Just wondering how much of your day you spend on the Steelers?
I have a group of friends (5-6)who are all Steelers friends that come over for pretty much every Steelers game for the last 15-16 years.
For 12:00 (central time) games I usually start cooking and getting things ready around 7:00am and try and have things done by 10:00am when people start showing up. depending on whether people stick around to watch the later games(if it impacts the Steelers) I usually am cleaned up and ready to relax around 7:00pm.

For 3:00 (central time) games I try and start cooking around 9:00- 10:00am with people showing up around noon. I typically try and save these days for food that takes longer to cook. by the time everyone rolls out and I get cleaned up it's usually about bed time.

Sunday night games I start getting things ready around 3:00 with people showing up around 5:00. By the time everyone leaves and I get cleaned up it's midnight.

Thursday and Monday night games is the only games I don't cook for. We order in a 150 wings and 3-4 pizzas with people pretty much just showing up after the get off work.

With Sunday Ticket and food I easily spend $1,200- $1,500 per season. My wife has never complained once about any of it and usually sneaks down and grabs some food and watches for a minute if she hears a lot of cheering. she says if we are real quiet she doesn't come down much.(Lol) She always wears some Steelers gear on game days. I have a 15 year old son who loves the Steelers and he usually has a couple of his friends that he has converted to Steelers fans over too.

I love hosting the Steelers party's and can't imagine not doing it. I wish some of you guys on the message board were close enough to come hang out.

So how much of your day is spent on the Steelers?

wow that sounds like a good time every sunday
I dont spend near that much time
We don't get out of church until 12:15 or so so its usually a race to get home just to watch the kickoff.

It's kind of a joke at the church I go to about me disappearing for a few months a year.

Im lucky if I can put aside 3 hours just for the 1:00 games. 4:00 games I usually don't get to see and night games offer me the must luxury.

I don't have any friends that are Steelers fans. I only know one other guy that's a Steelers fan. Me and the guys usually get together for the late games and sometimes the early games if their teams are on a bye or aren't playing at the same time as the Steelers. We do up a chili or order some wings and pizza. I don't spend a lot of time cooking

If you don't mind me asking, what is it that keeps you from watching the later games?

    Interesting question.
This is the first year, in longer than I can remember, when I actually missed watching a game as it was being played...
And I still watched the first half, against the Raiders, until my gf got home from work, and i took her out to dinner for her b-day.(recorded the game, and watched the second half, when we got home.)...
Today, we had an early Thanksgiving Day dinner, because her Mom`s going out of state to visit extended family, before Turkey Day...
This led to a little friction, when She wanted to head to her Mom`s at about 12:50, when I thought she understood, that I wanted to watch the first half at home, then head to her Mom`s at halftime, since we were eating at 3.
It all worked out well, since her Mom was accomodating to me and another Steeler fan(My "step-son-in-law"), and had the game on for us, even tho, watching tv during a "family dinner", is usually out of the question.
I know, in PA, it is just kind of accepted, and understood, that if the Steelers are playing, and there is a "family oriented event" going on, the game will be on(and probably focused on), during the "event", but outside of "Da Burgh"....
    and in some traditional families...
When it`s time to eat, it`s time to eat. Period.
There are no other distractions, from tv, or radio.
It`s time to eat with the family, converse, and socialize, with no outside distractions....
And 99 percent of the time, I agree with that... It`s how i was raised. Dinner time, is Dinner time.
Turn off the tv, radio, cellphones, etc, and sit down and eat....
HOWEVER, if the Steelers are playing, and you enforce those rules... I won`t be there.
My own family, knows, and accepts this, and apparentley, now, my girl`s family knows, and accepts it as well.
    Damn, I`m a lucky guy!
Within my own family, birthday parties, etc., get moved to another day, if my Steelers are playing that day...
Like i said... They know I won`t go, if my boys are playin.
    I watch the games!!!
For her Mom, to allow tv in the front room, and allow me and a couple other Steeler fans to eat, and watch the game, during dinner, shows me we are truly accepted into the family, and I am extremely grateful, for that!
We had a great day, and I did plenty of "socializing" before and after the game, just not "during" the game.
Yes, I`m spoiled, and I appreciate the Hell out of it!!!
    Aside from all that...
I don`t really spend a lot of "time" persay, (Thanx, Tomlin:lolol:), on gamedays, but I DO plan my days around the game...
Which is why I prefer One Oclock games, on Sunday...
I hate waiting around for 4 oclock games, Or even worse, primetime games, like this Thurs...
Have to fill my time doing stuff, to pass the time, and trying not to "count down to kickoff", in my head, all day!
    GO STEELERS!

Yeah hard to get out of that. One of my buddys basically leaves my house and goes straight to work after the game on Sundays.
