Brutal, right? I felt bad knowing it was coming and not being able to warn anyone who hadn't read the books. It was worse in the book IMO, though, adding Robb's wife and "little Ned" into the mix rivaled that for sure. Seeing Grey Wind go down was rough.

There were a couple things I wish were included, but they did a great job with it.

Quite true. Certainly next week will give us all something awesome, though.:rawk:

I'm not sure what you think is going to happen. But if it's what I think you think it is, you may be disappointed. ;) I don't see them doing that until maybe episode 2 or 3 next year at the earliest.

But something I expect might happen: A man hasn't seen Balon Greyjoy in a while. ;)

But, but, but....<sigh> yeah, it was that. I don't want to wait 'till next season for that.

Believe me, it would really be throwing fans a bone. But the time frame is all wrong. I could be wrong and would love to see it. There just hasn't been enough track laid for it yet. (Unless they put one over on even book readers and alter events completely. But that would be a mistake IMO)

You're right, I hadn't really thought about it too much. My old wound was reopened last night and I'm eager for a band-aid.:lolol:

Well, one thing for sure. I'm buying the books as I'm not going to be able to wait until next season. Watching that last episode was torture. After the arrows came out and made it rain I thought "no, this can't be." I breathed a brief sigh of relief once I saw the Starks getting up only to get my heart ripped out again. I literally fell off my sofa, FELL OFF MY SOFA! My wife who hasn't been watching the show looked at me and said "I've never seen you get so caught up in a TV show." She's now going to watch everything and get caught up this summer and possibly read the books too.

I've got this awful feeling that HBO will pull a stunt similar to what they did with Carnivale.

Wow. If you like the show, you'll love the books.
I've never seen it. What did they do?

Not a chance. The ratings for GoT are still rising and on the verge of passing even True Blood by. The only real worry is that the show might catch up to the books. That might complicate things.

But IF HBO pulled a boner here, at least we still have the books. Cancelling Carnivale ticked me off because I knew there was a ton of story still to be told. I wish Daniel Knauf had written a few books to finish his story.

Don't get me started on Deadwood... (HBO is blameless there, but it's still infuriating)

Carnivale was envisioned as 3 "books" with 2 acts each. Each act = 1 season. They cancelled it at the end of the second season JUST as the show was really taking off.

Man, I forgot about him. I guess I just assumed he was part of the slaughter but I guess Frey is not going to make his own daughter a widow. Actually he would that crazy maniac.

Not spoiling too much to say that Edmure was clueless to what was going on outside and is still alive and well... well, alive and healthy. Can't vouch for well being of mind and emotion. ;)

And Catelyn's Uncle Brynden (The Blackfish) if you recall had gone outside to find a tree. In the books, he wasn't even there at the wedding so they used that excuse to keep him out of the slaughter.

There were representatives from almost every major house in the North at that wedding. Many were killed. But in the books, several were taken hostage and not harmed. Including the son of a particularly fat Lord from White Harbor (2 sons were there. One was killed. The other taken prisoner)...

You'll meet him (the Lord of White Harbor) in time. He rocks. ;) The North remembers.

So I've come to realize this:

Since the Starks are left with 2 girls and a crazy eyed cripple, I'm turning my attention now to Dany. Here's hoping she stays alive!

    ROFL!

Why does everyone always forget Rickon? And Jon Snow is out there as well...

That's right, I did forget about him. Maybe him being so small and never having any lines had something to do with it. And Jon Snow, well... he's not exactly a Stark.
