In the protocol I posted the link to, I don't remember reading the part about 5 days passing prior to 2 negative tests in 24 hours.

I’m mostly upset for selfish reasons. I love the prime time holiday games in the Gold Rush jerseys.

But from a practical standpoint I think this benefits the Steelers more. The people tested positive for the Ravens are still out for Sunday and honestly a few more days of rest for the Steelers can’t hurt. Remember the bye game was so early on because of the Titans.

Plus the Steelers can actually have practice.

    Still mad though.

Not to say a 5 day waiting period isn't the case, I just don't remember reading it.

Will this count as the Steelers Thursday game? Will they have another game moved to make sure they play on a Thursday? This kind of sucks but I'm thinking it actually helps the team heal up a bit. Am I wrong thinking that? Would they have been better off playing?

It's because of the close contact issues. Players that have been in close contact with confirmed cases can't play for 5 days - like happened with Ben, and the Raiders D. However, because this is a Thursday game, that would mean that none of the close contact cases would be cleared in time for the game, which likely means that the Ravens wouldn't have even been able to field a team. (For example, two centers have tested positive, which means probably none of their O-line would be allowed to play tomorrow.)

Again, according to league protocols, that shouldn't be reason to move a game. If you have to with 11 guys iron man style, too damn bad.

According to this, McSorley and Marshall were placed on the list in previous weeks, so I'm still not clear which players have tested positive. None of the guys who have tested positive should be cleared to play Sunday, but I'm not trusting the system at all at this point.

I thought Dobbins, Ingram, McPhee, and Skura were four of the guys who tested positive, but it really isn't clear which guys are on the COVID list due to contact tracing and which ones have positive tests. The reports are conflicting.

That's what I thought. I'm wondering about the other five positive tests. If they are without Campbell, Skura, and McPhee, that is a significant hit.

If, say, we have a couple key players test positive right before the Superbowl, Goodell will delay the game to make sure we can play at full strength.

    Right?

    Right?

If those players don’t play then I’m cool. Otherwise it’s BS. Home teams on Thursday have huge advantages on top of their players breaking protocol. Sounds like mercy was in store for them if they end up playing

It gives us more time to prepare. It also gets dinged players more time to heal. It will hopefully also mean McDonald is back in the fold. Otherwise we have one tightens for the game and he can’t block. Additionally it might mean the ravens get even more positive tests. They’re already without 7 players. Most of whom play significant roles

More positive tests , especially friday or sat might mean another postponement.
