I mentioned in this tread that I am superstitious beyond reasoning for the most part. Now I have a problem. Every week during this winning streak I have used certain coffee cups for breakfast, certain beer coozies for games, certain clothing for my Fridays at work and certain timing on how I do things all together in general during the week. Put on my same 3 Steelers shirts for the game. Basically, I'm a total head case.

Now, here is my problem. I feel it has all now been jinxed but I really hope not. Not much I can do about it now anyways. I work a second shift and I get home very late in the evenings. Every week I tape the game. If they lose, I simply delete the game and move on. If they win, which they have been for 9 straight now, I come home from work on Wednesday night, Pop a cold one, put it in my non game day Steelers coozie and relax watching the replay to recap the game and see what they did right and how they can play better. I miss a lot during the game that I can catch on the replays.

So I come home last night, turn the TV on, go to menu, select recordings and everything is deleted...........UGH!, What? Why? My wife is sleeping. I don't want to cause an argument at midnight, but now I'm going out of my mind. My blood pressure is spiking, I'm searching again for anyway possible to see if I am not doing something right, trying to find the replay in another area of the menu and my wife gets up to let the dog out of the bedroom. I confronted her about this and said, did you really erase my Steelers game to which she replied.....the old one? I said yea, the one that I didn't watch again yet. She said, yea, you already seen it.

I've been married for a very long time and don't like to cause problems especially that time of night when she has to get up early in the morning. Our marriage works cause we don't argue much but this was borderline. I just let it go and am now hoping that it didn't jinx this weeks game. Now, I am going to be more worried than ever come Sunday and if we lose it will probably be (in my mind anyways) my wife's doing.

Somebody please convince me that it will be OK so that I can continue the G W B............... posts.

All is not lost is it? Should I even wear my same clothes? Drink out of the same coffee cups? Use the same coozies? Do I need to see a shrink, go to a fortune teller, seek marriage counseling? Or, am I just blowing everything out of proportion? We are so close this year I can taste it but why did she mess up my mojo?:worried:

I can't wear anything Steelers on Sunday...I wear it on Saturday, but nothing on Sunday.

See my picture...about killed me not able to wear #7 (My wife wore it over her other 20 layers of stuff) in Pittsburgh.

That was my 5th Steelers game and the only one they have won...now I will need to take all 6 of us every time I go $$$. (the 4 losses were never the same combination of people)

All of that stuff was for the regular season and wild card. This is the AFC Championship! A whole new set of rules should apply imo. Maybe that will help....

I haven't shaved since the day of the loss to the cowgirls. That was pretty much the start of our playoffs and I figured it was time for a playoff beard.

I've also worn a Steelers shirt or at least Steelers colors shirts everyday since that same loss. No sense in changing that up now.

My dad is a Browns fan, although he doesn't watch much anymore due to being so fed up. When I was a kid, I remember him telling me that when the Browns were doing well, he didn't want to move from the spot on the couch where he was sitting, afraid it would cause them to stop doing well :lolol:

For myself, I really don't have anything, other than that I used to carefully choose which Jersey I would wear. I used to keep track of whether or not the Steelers would win if I wore a certain jersey, but eventually quit doing that since I know that my choice of outerwear doesn't really have an effect on the outcome of the game.

    Blasphemer! Stone him!

I'm a scientist, so I'm not really superstitious. I wear my jersey (Ward or Hayward); have my Steelers bottle cozy and/or coffee mug in use; make sure NO ONE IN THE HOUSE is wearing any of the other team's primary colors; and have my Terrible Towel folded in half lengthwise and placed, "Terrible" showing, over the shoulder matching the end of the field the Steelers' opponents occupy.

I'm generally much more superstitious when it comes to baseball than I am football. HOWEVER, I got this really cool Steelers jacket for Christmas and one day when I was leaving for work a couple of weeks ago I couldn't find my Ghostbusters jacket so I just decided to wear that new jacket. Multiple people were commenting on how cool of a jacket it is and one of them was even a cowgirls fan. So the other day I started to grab my Ghostbusters jacket and I was like "Well the team has been playing good while I've been wearing this jacket. So until they lose I'm gonna keep wearing it." That's superstition.

You ever go up to people and say "HEY! BACK OFF MAN! I'M A SCIENTIST!"? Because that would be super cool if you did.

It's a sign! So I have a knockoff authentic Ward jersey from 04. I completely stopped wearing it because it as earned the nickname dirt nasty. It's disgusting and kind of embarrassing to wear. Well after the 4 game losing streak I decided to put it on over my Pirates hoodie and that is what I've worn every week from my earlier post.

I do the same if it's a night game. I played the other day in about the same conditions.

As for a ritual I don't really have one except taking my blood pressure medicine right before the game! The Steelers like to make games closer than they have to be.

Last Super Bowl I talked smack to a Packers fan at work and they lost. So now no smack talk, I let the 6 trophies speak for me.
